B.G 9.09
न च मां तानि कर्माणि निबध्नन्ति धनञ्जय। उदासीनवदासीनमसक्तं तेषु कर्मसु ॥९॥
O Dhanañjaya, those actions do not bind me, as I remain 'like an indifferent one', not willfully seeking those actions.
Gīta Bhāshya 9.09
'Like an indifferent one' - is not the same as truly indifferent. He who governs actions - how can action bind Him?
उदासीनवत् न तु उदासीनः। तदर्थं आह - असक्तं इति।
Like an indifferent one, but not truly indifferent. For that reason, it is said—‘unattached’.
"अवाक्यनादरः"
"Silent and disregarding."
इति श्रुतिः।
- stated thus in the Vedic testimonials.
"द्रव्यं कर्म च कालश्च स्वभावो जीव एव च। यदनुग्रहतः सन्ति न सन्ति यदुपेक्षया॥"
"Substance, action (movement), time, inherent nature, and the living being indeed exist by His grace and cease to exist if He neglects."
इति भागवते।
- stated thus in the Bhāgavata Purāṇa.
यस्य अशक्यैव सर्वकर्मशक्तिः कुतः तस्य सर्वकर्मबन्धः इति भावः।
Even without willfully seeking He has power over all actions; how can any actions bind Him? - Such is the sense.
"न कर्मणा वर्धते नो कनीयान्"
"He neither grows by action nor becomes lesser."
इति हि श्रुतिः।
- indeed, thus states Vedic testimonial.
यः कर्मापि नियामयति कथं तं कर्म बध्नाति ॥९॥
He who governs actions - how can action bind Him?
