Bhagavad Gīta Tātparya
B.G 4.24
brahmārpaṇaṁ brahmahavirbrahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam। brahmaiva tena gantavyaṁ brahmakarmasamādhinā ॥24॥
That Brahman, the absolute supreme reality, is the offering, that Brahman is the sacrifice, that Brahman is the fire that consumes, that Brahman is the destination to be reached, and all actions and equanimous state depend on that Brahman alone.
Gīta Tātparya 4.24
How to abandon the ego? By understanding, there is but one independent lord, and everything else is His.
kathamabhimānatyāgaḥ - brahmārpaṇamityādi। brahmaṇyarpaṇaṁ brahmārpaṇam। brahmaṇo haviḥ। brahmaṇaḥ agnau। brahmaṇaḥ karma samādhinā saha। samādhirapi tadadhīnā ityarthaḥ।
How to abandon the ego? - is answered by 'brahmārpaṇa' verse. 'brahmārpaṇam' means offering made to Brahman. The sacrifice belongs to Brahman. The fire is that of Brahman. Even the actions and equanimous state belong to him. The equanimous state of 'samādhi' depends on Him is the meaning.
"ekaḥ svatantro bhagavān tadīyaṁ tvanyaducyate।"
iti bhārate ॥24॥
"The independent lord is One. It is declared, everything else is His."
- states Mahabharata.
