B.G 18.66
सर्वधर्मान् परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज। अहं त्वा सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः ॥६६॥
sarvadharmān parityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja। ahaṁ tvā sarvapāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ ॥66॥
[सर्वधर्मान् (sarvadharmān) - all-other tendencies; परित्यज्य (parityajya) - abandoning; माम् (mām) - me; एकं (ekaṁ) - only; शरणं (śaraṇaṁ) - refuge; व्रज (vraja) - go; अहं (ahaṁ) - I; त्वा (tvā) - you; सर्वपापेभ्यः (sarvapāpebhyaḥ) - from all sins; मोक्षयिष्यामि (mokṣayiṣyāmi) - will liberate; मा (mā) - do not; शुचः (śucaḥ) - grieve;]
Abandon all other tendencies, come to me alone for refuge. I will liberate you from all sins; do not grieve.

The renunciation of duty means renouncing the fruits of action. How otherwise is the recommendation for war?
धर्मत्यागः फलत्यागः। कथमन्यथा युद्धविधिः।
dharmatyāgaḥ phalatyāgaḥ। kathamanyathā yuddhavidiḥ।
[धर्म (dharma) - duty; त्यागः (tyāgaḥ) - renunciation; फल (phala) - fruit; त्यागः (tyāgaḥ) - renunciation; कथम् (katham) - how; अन्यथा (anyathā) - otherwise; युद्ध (yuddha) - war; विधिः (vidhiḥ) - procedure / recommendation;]

"यस्तु कर्मफलत्यागी स त्यागीत्यभिधीयते"
"yastu karmaphalatyāgī sa tyāgītyabhidhīyate"

"He who gives up the fruits of his actions is truly called a renouncer."
