Mundaka 3.05
तस्मादग्निः समिधो यश्च सूर्यः सोमात् पर्जन्यौषधयः पृथिव्याम्। पुमान् रेतः सिञ्चति योषितायां बह्वीः प्रजाः पुरुषात् सम्प्रसूताः ॥५॥
tasmād agniḥ samidho yaś ca sūryaḥ somāt parjanyauṣadhayaḥ pṛthivyām। pumān retaḥ siñcati yoṣitāyāṃ bahvīḥ prajāḥ puruṣāt samprasūtāḥ ॥5॥
[तस्मात् (tasmāt) - from that; अग्निः (agniḥ) - fire; समिधः (samidhaḥ) - sacrifical wood; यः (yaḥ) - who; च (ca) - and; सूर्यः (sūryaḥ) - sun; सोमात् (somāt) - from Soma, moon; पर्जन्यौषधयः (parjanyauṣadhayaḥ) - rain and herbs; पृथिव्याम् (pṛthivyām) - on earth; पुमान् (pumān) - man; रेतः (retaḥ) - seed; सिञ्चति (siñcati) - sprinkles; योषितायाम् (yoṣitāyām) - in woman; बह्वीः (bahvīḥ) - many; प्रजाः (prajāḥ) - offspring; पुरुषात् (puruṣāt) - from being; सम्प्रसूताः (samprasūtāḥ) - are born;]
From that wood arise fire, similarly from the sun and the moon comes rain and herbs on earth. A man deposits seed in a woman, and many offspring are born from the being.
Bhāshya 3.05
Lord Vasudeva is the Purusha, and though complete, he places the womb in goddess Rama, and all beings were born from it.
"वासुदेवः पुमान्नामा पूर्णत्वात् स स्वयोषिति। रमायां गर्भमदधात् प्रजास्तस्मात् प्रजज्ञिरे॥"
"vāsudevaḥ pumānnāmā pūrṇatvāt sa svayoṣiti। ramāyāṃ garbhamadadhāt prajāstasmāt prajajñire॥"
[वासुदेवः (vāsudevaḥ) - Vasudeva; पुमान् (pumān) - man; नामा (nāmā) - named; पूर्णत्वात् (pūrṇatvāt) - due to completeness; स (sa) - he; स्वयोषिति (svayoṣiti) - in his own wife; रमायां (ramāyāṃ) - in Rama; गर्भम् (garbham) - womb; अदधात् (adadhāt) - placed; प्रजाः (prajāḥ) - offspring; तस्मात् (tasmāt) - from him; प्रजज्ञिरे (prajajñire) - were born;]
"Lord Vasudeva, a man named due to completeness, placed the womb in his own wife Rama; offspring were born from him."
