Māndukya 3.04
अत्रैते श्लोका भवन्ति -
atraite ślokā bhavanti -

विश्वस्यात्वविवक्षायामादिसामान्यमुत्कटम्। मात्रासम्प्रतिपत्तौ स्यादाप्तिसामान्यमेव च ॥४॥
viśvasyātvavivakṣāyām ādi-sāmānyam utkaṭam। mātrā-sampratipattau syād āpti-sāmānyam eva ca ॥4॥
[विश्वस्यात्व (viśvasyātva) - universality-ness; विवक्षायाम् (vivakṣāyām) - in the intention to express; आदि (ādi) - primary; सामान्यम् (sāmānyam) - universality inhering in many; उत्कटम् (utkaṭam) - predominant; मात्रा (mātrā) - part / measure; सम्प्रतिपत्तौ (sampratipattau) - in the act of apprehension / worship; स्यात् (syāt) - there is; आप्ति (āpti) - attainment; सामान्यम् (sāmānyam) - universality inhering in many; एव (eva) - only; च (ca) - and;
viśvasya ātva-vivakṣāyām - When the essential reality (ātva, “is-ness”) of the universe is intended to be conveyed; ādi-sāmānyam utkaṭam - the primordial universality inhering in many entities is emphasized; mātrā-sampratipattau - through cognition by meditation on a part (attribute, aspect, or effect); syāt āpti-sāmānyam eva ca - there indeed arises a mode of realization of that universality inhering in many.]
When the essential reality (is-ness) of the universe is intended to be conveyed, the primordial universality inhering in many entities is emphasized; and through cognition by meditation on a part ("A"), there indeed arises a mode of realization of that same universality inhering in many.
Bhāshya 3.04
'mātrāsampratipattau' - meditation on the part. 'ādimatvaṃ', i.e. the primordial nature, is-ness, reality, of the universe, is realized. Similar principles apply to the presence of the Lord within.
मात्रासम्प्रतिपत्तौ अंशध्याने। आदिमत्वं विश्वस्य विद्यते।
mātrāsampratipattau aṃśadhyāne। ādimatvaṃ viśvasya vidyate।
[मात्रा (mātrā) - measure; सम्प्रतिपत्तौ (sampratipattau) - in the attainment; अंश (aṃśa) - part; ध्याने (dhyāne) - in meditation; आदिमत्वं (ādimatvaṃ) - primordiality; विश्वस्य (viśvasya) - of the universe; विद्यते (vidyate) - exists;]
The term 'mātrāsampratipattau' means meditation on the part. 'ādimatvaṃ', i.e. the primordial nature, is-ness, reality of the universe, is realized.
(तदुपासकस्यापि भवतीत्यादिसामान्यम्।)
(tad-upāsakasya-api bhavatīti-ādi-sāmānyam।)
[तत् (tat) - that; उपासकस्य (upāsakasya) - of the worshipper; अपि (api) - also; भवति (bhavati) - is; इति (iti) - thus; आदि (ādi) - and so on; सामान्यम् (sāmānyam) - generality;]
(This 'sāmānya' principle, universality inhering in many, also applies to the worshipper and so on.)
