Kāthakopaniṣat Bhāshya (काठकोपनिषत् )
2.2.14
tad etad iti manyante anirdeśyaṃ paramaṃ sukham। kathaṃ nu tad vijānīyāṃ kim u bhāti na bhāti vā ॥14॥
They consider this to be the indescribable-supreme-happiness. How indeed can I know that? Does it shine or not?
Bhāṣya 2.2.14
The word 'etat' indicates the divine form, which is the ultimate bliss. The happiness experienced by the wise is merely a meagre portion of that and is obtained by His grace only. A testimonial from the Mahakaurma Purana is provided, elaborating the words and expressions used in the verse.
etadeva bhagavadrūpaṃ paramaṃ sukham। jñānisukhaṃ tu tadvipluṇmātram।
Addressed by the word 'etat' is indeed the divine form, the ultimate bliss. However, the happiness of the wise is merely a meagre portion of that.
"brahmādīnāṃ ca muktānāṃ sukhaṃ viṣṇusukhasya tu। pratibimbastu vipluṭko viṣṇoreva paraṃ sukham॥
samyag bhāti na bhātīti jānīyāṃ tatkathaṃ nvaham। tatprasādamṛte divyaṃ anirdeśyaṃ paraṃ sukham॥"
"The joy experienced by Brahma, other deities, and liberated beings is merely a reflection of the bliss of Lord Vishnu, which is the ultimate bliss. How would I know whether it shines properly or not? Without the grace of that Indescribable-Divine-Supreme, there is no bliss."
iti ca mahāvarāhe ॥14॥
- stated thus, in the Mahāvarāh Purana.

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
