तदेतदिति मन्यन्ते अनिर्देश्यं परमं सुखम्। कथं नु तद्विजानीयां किमु भाति न भाति वा ॥१४॥
They consider this to be the indescribable-supreme-happiness. How indeed can I know that? Does it shine or not?
Bhāṣya 2.2.14
The word 'etat' indicates the divine form, which is the ultimate bliss. The happiness experienced by the wise is merely a meagre portion of that and is obtained by His grace only. A testimonial from the Mahakaurma Purana is provided, elaborating the words and expressions used in the verse.
एतदेव भगवद्रूपं परमं सुखम्। ज्ञानिसुखं तु तद्विप्लुण्मात्रम्।
Addressed by the word 'etat' is indeed the divine form, the ultimate bliss. However, the happiness of the wise is merely a meagre portion of that.
"ब्रह्मादीनां च मुक्तानां सुखं विष्णुसुखस्य तु। प्रतिबिम्बस्तु विप्लुट्को विष्णोरेव परं सुखम्॥
सम्यग् भाति न भातीति जानीयां तत्कथं न्वहम्। तत्प्रसादमृते दिव्यं अनिर्देश्यं परं सुखम्॥"
"The joy experienced by Brahma, other deities, and liberated beings is merely a reflection of the bliss of Lord Vishnu, which is the ultimate bliss. How would I know whether it shines properly or not? Without the grace of that Indescribable-Divine-Supreme, there is no bliss."
