B.G 14.26
मां च योऽव्यभिचारेण भक्तियोगेन सेवते। स गुणान् समतीत्यैतान् ब्रह्मभूयाय कल्पते ॥२६॥
māṁ ca yo'vyabhicāreṇa bhaktiyogena sevate। sa guṇān samatītyaitān brahmabhūyāya kalpate ॥26॥
[मां (māṁ) - me; च (ca) - and; यः (yaḥ) - who; अव्यभिचारेण (avyabhicāreṇa) - with unwavering; भक्तियोगेन (bhaktiyogena) - by devotion; सेवते (sevate) - serves; सः (saḥ) - he; गुणान् (guṇān) - qualities; समतीत्य (samatītya) - transcending; एतान् (etān) - these; ब्रह्मभूयाय (brahmabhūyāya) - to achieve a purity of emotion and intent, aligning with divine qualities of Brahman; कल्पते (kalpate) - is fit;]
He who serves me with unwavering devotion transcends these qualities and becomes eligible to attain purity of emotion and intent, aligning with divine qualities of Brahman.
Gīta Bhāshya 14.26
The word 'bhūyāya' means 'bhāvāya', i.e. to achieve a purity of emotion and intent, aligning with divine qualities. Thus, the word 'brahmabhūyam', means becoming dear to the Lord, similar to Lord Brahma or goddess Prakrti.
ब्रह्मवत् प्रकृतिवत् भगवत्प्रियत्वं ब्रह्मभूयम्। न तु तावत्प्रियत्वम्। किन्तु प्रियत्वमात्रम्।
brahmavat prakṛtivat bhagavatpriyatvaṃ brahmabhūyam। na tu tāvatpriyatvam। kintu priyatvamātram।
[ब्रह्मवत् (brahmavat) - like Brahman; प्रकृतिवत् (prakṛtivat) - like nature; भगवत्प्रियत्वं (bhagavatpriyatvaṃ) - dearness to the Lord; ब्रह्मभूयम् (brahmabhūyam) - state of being Brahman; न (na) - not; तु (tu) - but; तावत्प्रियत्वम् (tāvatpriyatvam) - such dearness; किन्तु (kintu) - however; प्रियत्वमात्रम् (priyatvamātram) - mere dearness;]
The word 'brahmabhūyam', means becoming dear to the Lord, similar to Lord Brahma or goddess Prakrti. It does not mean the same dearness (as that of Lord Brahma or goddess Prakrti), but in a limited sense.
"बद्धा वापि तु मुक्ता वा न रमावत् प्रिया हरेः॥"
"baddhā vāpi tu muktā vā na ramāvat priyā hareḥ॥"
[बद्धा (baddhā) - bound; वा (vā) - or; अपि (api) - even; तु (tu) - but; मुक्ता (muktā) - liberated; वा (vā) - or; न (na) - not; रमावत् (ramāvat) - like Ramā; प्रिया (priyā) - dear; हरेः (hareḥ) - of Hari;]
"Whether bound or liberated, one is never as dear to Hari as Ramā (i.e. Prakrti) is."
