Bhagavad Gīta Bhāshya
B.G 5.10
ब्रह्मण्याधाय कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा करोति यः। लिप्यते न स पापेन पद्मपत्रमिवाम्भसा ॥१०॥
brahmaṇyādhāya karmāṇi saṅgaṁ tyaktvā karoti yaḥ। lipyate na sa pāpena padmapatramivāmbhasā ॥10॥
[ब्रह्मण्याधाय कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा करोति यः। लिप्यते न स पापेन पद्मपत्रमिव आम्भसा॥
ब्रह्मण्याधाय (brahmaṇyādhāya) - offering actions unto Brahman; कर्माणि (karmāṇi) - actions; सङ्गं (saṅgam) - attachment; त्यक्त्वा (tyaktvā) - giving up, abandoning; करोति (karoti) - performs, does; यः (yaḥ) - who; लिप्यते (lipyate) - becomes tainted; न (na) - not; स (sa) - he; पापेन (pāpena) - by sin; पद्मपत्रमिव (padmapatramiva) - like a lotus leaf; आम्भसा (āmbhasā) - by water;]
One who performs actions, offering them to Brahman and giving up attachment, is not tainted by sin, just as a lotus leaf is not wetted by water.
Gīta Bhāshya 5.10
The prescribed practice, i.e. renunciation along with Yōga, is a rule and is not just a superficial lip service.
संन्यासयोगयुक्त एव च कर्मणा न लिप्यत इत्याह- ब्रह्मणि इति। साधननियमस्य उपचारत्वनिवृत्त्यर्थं पुनःपुनः फलकथनम् ॥१०॥
saṁnyāsaYōgayukta eva ca karmaṇā na lipyata ityāha- brahmaṇi iti। sādhananiyamasya upacāratvanivr̥ttyarthaṁ punaḥpunaḥ phalakathanam ॥10॥
[संन्यासयोगयुक्तः (saṁnyāsaYōgayuktaḥ) - the renunciation is performed by engaging in Yōga; एव (eva) - indeed; च (ca) - and; कर्मणा (karmaṇā) - by action; न (na) - not; लिप्यते (lipyate) - is tainted; इति (iti) - thus; आह (āha) - it is said; ब्रह्मणि (brahmaṇi) - in Brahman; इति (iti) - thus; साधननियमस्य (sādhananiyamasya) - The rescribed practice is a rule; उपचारत्वनिवृत्त्यर्थं (upacāratvanivṛttyarthaṁ) - is not prescribed just for lip service; पुनःपुनः (punaḥpunaḥ) - repeatedly; फलकथनम् (phalakathanam) - discussion of results are made;]
Indeed, the renunciation is to be practiced along with Yōga, and such actions don't get tainted with defects, is conveyed by 'brahmaṇi' verse. The prescribed practice, i.e. renunciation along with Yōga, is a rule and is not just a superficial lip service. Hence, repeatedly, its results are emphasized.
