Bhagavad Gīta Bhāshya
B.G 2.61
तानि सर्वाणि संयम्य युक्त आसीत मत्परः। वशे हि यस्येंद्रियाणि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता ॥६१॥
tāni sarvāṇi saṁyamya yukta āsīta matparaḥ। vaśē hi yasyēṁdriyāṇi tasya prajñā pratiṣṭhitā ॥61॥
[ तानि सर्वाणि संयम्य युक्त आसीत मत्परः। वशे हि यस्य इन्द्रियाणि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतिष्ठिता ॥६१॥
tāni = those (senses); sarvāṇi = all the; saṁyamya = keeping under restraint; yukta = is joined (Me in his mind); āsīta = situated, sit; matparaḥ = with the understanding that I am superior to everything else; vaśē = obtains control over; hi = certainly; yasya = whose; indriyāṇi = senses; tasya = his; prajñā = wisdom; pratiṣṭhitā = is steadfast;]
Having restrained all the senses, he should sit meditating on me with the understanding that I (lord Krishna) am superior to everything else. He certainly obtains control over his senses, and for such a person, wisdom is steadfast.
Gīta Bhāshya 2.61
With effort, it is possible to bring senses under control. 'yuktaḥ' - who has joined lord in the mind. 'matparaḥ' - with understanding that I am (lord Krishna) is superior to everything else. Steadfast wisdom results from such a meditation.
तर्हि अशक्यान्येव इत्यत आह- तानीति। बहुयत्नवतः शक्यानि। अतो यत्नं कुर्यात् इत्याशयः।
tarhi aśakyānyēva ityata āha- tānīti। bahuyatnavataḥ śakyāni। atō yatnaṁ kuryāt ityāśayaḥ।
[tarhi = then; aśakyānyēva = even if he thinks it is not possible; ityata āha = therefore it is said; tānīti = in 'tānīti' verse; bahuyatnavataḥ = after a lot of effort; śakyāni = it becomes possible; atō = therefore; yatnaṁ = effort; kuryāt = one should put; ityāśayaḥ = is the recommendation;]
If one thinks it is not possible (to control senses), then he is advised by 'tānīti' verse. It becomes possible (to control the senses) with a lot of effort. Therefore, it is recommended that one should put more effort.
युक्तः मयि मनोयुक्तः। अहमेव परः सर्वस्मात् उत्कृष्टः यस्य सः मत्परः। फलमाह - वशेहीति ॥६१॥
yuktaḥ mayi manōyuktaḥ। ahamēva paraḥ sarvasmāt utkr̥ṣṭaḥ yasya saḥ matparaḥ। phalamāha - vaśēhīti ॥61॥
[yuktaḥ = 'yuktaḥ' means ; mayi = with Me; manōyuktaḥ = joined in the mind; ahamēva = I am only; paraḥ = 'paraḥ', the transendental.; sarvasmāt = compared to everything else; utkr̥ṣṭaḥ = superior; yasya saḥ = one who knows; matparaḥ = is 'matparaḥ'; phalamāha = result is stated; vaśēhīti = by 'vaśē' verse;]
'yuktaḥ' means one who has joined with Me is his mind, i.e. meditating on me. A person with the understanding that I am only 'paraḥ' , the transcendental, i.e. I am superior to everything else, is called 'matparaḥ' . Result obtained (by such meditation) is stated in 'vaśē' verse.

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
