Bhagavad Gīta Bhāshya and Tātparya

B.G 1.39

कथं न ज्ञेयमस्माभिः पापादस्मान्निवर्तितुम्। कुलक्षयकृतं दोषं प्रपश्यद्भिर्जनार्दन ॥१-३९॥

kathaṁ na jñeyamasmābhiḥ pāpādasmānnivartitum। kulakṣayakṛtaṁ doṣaṁ prapaśyadbhirjanārdana ॥1-39॥

[कथम् (katham) - how; न (na) - not; ज्ञेयम् (jñeyam) - to be known; अस्माभिः (asmābhiḥ) - by us; पापात् (pāpāt) - from sin; अस्मान् (asmān) - us; निवर्तितुम् (nivartitum) - to turn away; कुलक्षयकृतम् (kulakṣayakṛtam) - caused by the destruction of a family; दोषम् (doṣam) - fault; प्रपश्यद्भिः (prapaśyadbhiḥ) - by those who see; जनार्दन (janārdana) - O Janardana;]

O Janardana, how can we, who see the fault caused by the destruction of a family, not desist from these sinful activities?

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
