Māndukya 2.08
अनादिमायया सुप्तो यदा जीवः प्रबुद्ध्यते। अजमनिद्रमस्वप्नमद्वैतं बुद्ध्यते तदा ॥८॥
anādimāyayā supto yadā jīvaḥ prabudhyate। ajamanidramasvapnamadvaitaṃ buddhyate tadā ॥8॥
[अनादिमायया (anādimāyayā) - by the beginningless illusion; सुप्तः (suptaḥ) - asleep; यदा (yadā) - when; जीवः (jīvaḥ) - the individual being; प्रबुद्ध्यते (prabudhyate) - awakens; अजम् (ajam) - the unborn; अनिद्रम् (anidram) - sleepless; अस्वप्नम् (asvapnam) - dreamless; अद्वैतम् (advaitam) - non-dual / AS-IS; बुद्ध्यते (buddhyate) - realizes; तदा (tadā) - then;]
When the individual being, deluded by the beginningless illusion, awakens, it realizes the unborn, sleepless, dreamless, and as-is reality.
Bhāshya 2.08
One is put to sleep by the beginningless illusion by the will of Lord Viṣṇu, then, when that awakening comes, he sees Lord Viṣṇu.
"अनादिमायया विष्णोरिच्छया स्वापितो यदा। तया प्रबोधमायाति तदा विष्णुं प्रपश्यति॥"
"anādimāyayā viṣṇoricchayā svāpito yadā। tayā prabodhamāyāti tadā viṣṇuṃ prapaśyati॥"
[अनादिमायया (anādimāyayā) - by the beginningless illusion; विष्णोः (viṣṇoḥ) - of Viṣṇu; इच्छया (icchayā) - by the will; स्वापितः (svāpitaḥ) - put to sleep; यदा (yadā) - when; तया (tayā) - by that; प्रबोधम् (prabodham) - awakening; आयाति (āyāti) - comes; तदा (tadā) - then; विष्णुम् (viṣṇum) - Viṣṇu; प्रपश्यति (prapaśyati) - sees;]
"One is put to sleep by the beginningless illusion by the will of Lord Viṣṇu, then, when that awakening comes, he sees Lord Viṣṇu."
