Kāthakopaniṣat Bhāshya (काठकोपनिषत् )
1.1.11-12
स्वर्गे लोके न भयं किञ्चनास्ति न तत्र त्वं न जरया बिभेति। उभे तीर्त्वा अशनायापिपासे शोकातिगो मोदते स्वर्गलोके ॥११॥
svarge loke na bhayaṁ kiñcanāsti na tatra tvaṁ na jarayā bibheti. ubhe tīrtvā aśanāyāpipāse śokātigo modate svargaloke ॥11॥
[स्वर्गे (svarge) - in heaven; लोके (loke) - world; न (na) - not; भयं (bhayaṁ) - fear; किञ्चन (kiñcana) - any; अस्ति (asti) - exists. न (na) - not; तत्र (tatra) - there; त्वं (tvaṁ) - you; न (na) - not; जरया (jarayā) - by old age; बिभेति (bibheti) - are afflicted. उभे (ubhe) - both; तीर्त्वा (tīrtvā) - having crossed; अशनायाः (aśanāyāḥ) - of hunger; पिपासे (pipāse) - and thirst; शोकातिगः (śokātigaḥ) - one who has gone beyond sorrow; मोदते (modate) - rejoices; स्वर्गलोके (svargaloke) - in the heavenly world.]
In the heavenly world, there is no fear of any kind; there, you are not afflicted by old age. Having crossed both hunger and thirst, one who has transcended sorrow rejoices in the heavenly world.
स त्वमग्निं स्वर्ग्यमध्येषि मृत्यो प्रब्रूहि तं श्रद्दधानाय मह्यम्। स्वर्गलोका अमृतत्वं भजन्ते एतद् द्वितीयेन वृणे वरेण ॥१२॥
sa tvam agniṁ svargyam adhyeṣi mṛtyo prabrūhi taṁ śraddadhānāya mahyam. svargalokā amṛtatvaṁ bhajante etad dvitīyena vṛṇe vareṇa ॥12॥
[सः (saḥ) - he; त्वम् (tvam) - you; अग्निं (agniṁ) - fire; स्वर्ग्यम् (svargyam) - heavenly; अध्येषि (adhyeṣi) - know; मृत्यो (mṛtyo) - O Death; प्रब्रूहि (prabrūhi) - declare; तम् (tam) - that; श्रद्दधानाय (śraddadhānāya) - to the faithful; मह्यम् (mahyam) - to me. स्वर्गलोकाः (svargalokāḥ) - heavenly worlds; अमृतत्वम् (amṛtatvam) - immortality; भजन्ते (bhajante) - attain; एतत् (etat) - this; द्वितीयेन (dvitīyena) - as the second; वृणे (vṛṇe) - I choose; वरेण (vareṇa) - boon.]
O Death, you know that heavenly fire; tell it to me, who is faithful. The heavenly worlds attain immortality through it. This I choose as my second boon.
Bhāṣya 1.1.11-12
Lord Hari, being foremost among all, is associated with the Naciketa fire.
"अग्र्यत्वादग्निनामासौ नाचिकेताग्निगो हरिः॥"
"agryatvād agninām āsau nāciketāgnigo hariḥ॥"
[अग्र्यत्वात् (agryatvāt) - due to supremacy; अग्निनाम् (agninām) - among fires; असौ (asau) - he; नाचिकेत-अग्निगः (nāciketa-agnigaḥ) - the one associated with the fire of Naciketas; हरिः (hariḥ) - Hari (Viṣṇu).]
"Lord Hari being foremost and supreme among all fires, is associated with the Naciketa fire."

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
