Kāthakopaniṣat Bhāshya (काठकोपनिषत् )
1.2.25
यस्य ब्रह्म च क्षत्रं च चोभे भवत ओदनः। मृत्युर्यस्योपसेचनं क इत्था वेद यत्र सः ॥२५॥
yasya brahma ca kṣatram ca cobhe bhavata odanaḥ। mṛtyuḥ yasya upasecanaṁ ka itthā veda yatra saḥ ॥25॥
[यस्य (yasya) - for whom; ब्रह्म (brahma) - the priestly order; च (ca) - and; क्षत्रम् (kṣatram) - the warrior order; च उभे (ca ubhe) - both; भवतः (bhavataḥ) - become; ओदनः (odanaḥ) - food;। मृत्यु: (mṛtyuḥ) - death; यस्य (yasya) - for whom; उपसेचनम् (upasecanam) - seasoning; कः (kaḥ) - who; इत्था (itthā) - thus; वेद (veda) - knows; यत्र (yatra) - where; सः (saḥ) - he;॥]
For whom both intellect and warrior class become mere food, and death itself a mere seasoning — who knows where such a One dwells?
॥ इति प्रथमाध्याये द्वितीया वल्ली ॥
॥ iti prathamādhyāye dvitīyā vallī ॥
[इति (iti) - thus; प्रथम-अध्याये (prathama-adhyāye) - in the first chapter; द्वितीया (dvitīyā) - second; वल्ली (vallī) - section;॥]
Thus ends the second section of the first chapter.
