1.2.06

न साम्परायः प्रतिभाति बालं प्रमाद्यन्तं वित्तमोहेन मूढम्। अयं लोको नास्ति पर इति मानी पुनः पुनर्वशमापद्यते मे ॥६॥

na sāmparāyaḥ pratibhāti bālaṁ pramādyantaṁ vittamohena mūḍham. ayaṁ loko nāsti para iti mānī punaḥ punar vaśam āpadyate me ॥6॥

[न (na) - not; साम्परायः (sāmparāyaḥ) - concerning the hereafter; प्रतिभाति (pratibhāti) - appears clearly; बालम् (bālam) - to the immature; प्रमाद्यम् (pramādyam) - who is heedless; वित्त-मोहेन (vitta-mohena) - by wealth-delusion; मूढम् (mūḍham) - deluded; अयम् (ayam) - this; लोकः (lokaḥ) - world; नास्ति (nāsti) - is not; परः (paraḥ) - the other (next world); इति (iti) - thus; मानी (mānī) - one who holds this view; पुनः पुनः (punaḥ punaḥ) - again and again; वशम् (vaśam) - under control; आपद्यते (āpadyate) - falls into; मे (me) - my (power);]

The hereafter does not appear to the immature, the deluded who are heedless due to wealth’s illusion; thinking “this world alone exists, there is no other,” such a one falls again and again under my control.
