Kāthakopaniṣat Bhāshya (काठकोपनिषत् )
1.2.01
अन्यच्छ्रेयोऽन्यदुतेव प्रेयः ते उभे नानार्थे पुरुषं सिनीतः। तयोः श्रेय आददानस्य साधु भवति हीयतेऽर्थाद्य उ प्रेयो वृणीते ॥१॥
anyat śreyaḥ anyat uta eva preyaḥ. te ubhe nānārthe puruṣam sinītaḥ. tayoḥ śreyaḥ ādadānasya sādhu bhavati hīyate arthāt yaḥ u preyaḥ vṛṇīte ॥1॥
[अन्यत् (anyat) - different; श्रेयः (śreyaḥ) - the good/ auspicious; अन्यत् (anyat) - different; उत (uta) - and indeed; एव (eva) - certainly; प्रेयः (preyaḥ) - the pleasant; ते (te) - these two; उभे (ubhe) - both; नानार्थे (nānārthe) - of divergent aims; पुरुषम् (puruṣam) - the person; सिनीते (sinītaḥ) - they bind or approach; तयोः (tayoḥ) - of the two; श्रेयः (śreyaḥ) - the good; आददानस्य (ādadānasya) - of the one who takes up; साधु (sādhu) - is beneficial; भवति (bhavati) - becomes; हीयते (hīyate) - falls away; अर्थात् (arthāt) - from the goal; यः (yaḥ) - who; उ (u) - indeed; प्रेयः (preyaḥ) - the pleasant; वृणीते (vṛṇīte) - chooses;]
The auspicious is one thing, and the pleasant is another; both with different aims to bind the person. Of them, the one who chooses the auspicious fares well, but he who chooses the pleasant falls away from the goal.

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
