B.G 3.17
यस्त्वात्मरतिरेव स्यादात्मतृप्तश्च मानवः। आत्मन्येव च सन्तुष्टस्तस्य कार्यं न विद्यते ॥१७॥
yastvātmaratirēva syādātmatr̥ptaśca mānavaḥ। ātmanyēva ca santuṣṭastasya kāryaṁ na vidyatē ॥17॥
[यः तु आत्मरतिः एव स्यात् आत्मतृप्तः च मानवः। आत्मनि एव च सन्तुष्टः तस्य कार्यं न विद्यते॥
yaḥ = who; tu = but; ātmaratiḥ = one who takes delight in that essence; ēva = alone; syāt = is; ātmatr̥ptaḥ = content with that essence; ca = and; mānavaḥ = a human being; ātmani = in that essence; ēva = indeed; ca = and; santuṣṭaḥ = satisfied; tasya = of him; kāryaṁ = duty/task; na = not; vidyatē = exists;]
The human who delights with that essence alone, who is content with that essence alone, and who is satisfied in that essence alone, the lord, has no other duty to perform.
Gīta Tātparya 3.17
Even though words 'tr̥pti' and 'santōṣa' are synonymous, being content 'with the supreme lord' and 'in the supreme lord' are the specialities.
तृप्तिसन्तोषशब्दयोः पर्यायत्वेऽपि परमात्मना तृप्तः परमात्मनि तृप्तः इति विशेषः।
tr̥ptisantōṣaśabdayōḥ paryāyatvē'pi paramātmanā tr̥ptaḥ paramātmani tr̥ptaḥ iti viśēṣaḥ।
[tr̥ptisantōṣaśabdayōḥ = the words 'tr̥pti' and 'santōṣa'; paryāyatvē'pi = even though synonymous; paramātmanā = with Supreme lord; tr̥ptaḥ = contented; paramātmani = in the supreme lord; tr̥ptaḥ = contented; iti viśēṣaḥ = is the speciality;]

"विष्णुप्रसादाद्रतिमान् तृप्तो विष्णुप्रसादतः। विष्णावेवातितृप्तश्च मुक्तोऽसौ विध्यगोचरः॥"

"viṣṇuprasādādratimān tr̥ptō viṣṇuprasādataḥ। viṣṇāvēvātitr̥ptaśca muktō'sau vidhyagōcaraḥ॥"

["viṣṇuprasādādratimān = from the grace of lord Vishnu, who delights; tr̥ptō = who is contented; viṣṇuprasādataḥ = lord Vishnu grants tranquility; viṣṇāvēvātitr̥ptaśca = who is intently content with lord Vishnu alone, and; muktō'sau = liberated, this; vidhyagōcaraḥ = is beyond the reach of ignorance;]

The lord Vishnu grants tranquility to one who delights and is content with the grace of Lord Vishnu. One who is intensely content with lord Vishnu alone gets liberated and is beyond the reach of ignorance.

"रतिरानन्द उद्दिष्टः तृप्तिश्च कृतकृत्यता। प्रीतिस्तु द्विविधः स्नेहः कर्मजो निज एव च॥"
इति शब्दनिर्णये।
"ratirānanda uddiṣṭaḥ tr̥ptiśca kr̥takr̥tyatā। prītistu dvividhaḥ snēhaḥ karmajō nija ēva ca॥"
iti śabdanirṇayē।
["ratirānanda = the happiness derived from love; uddiṣṭaḥ = aimed at; tr̥ptiśca = towards contentment, and; kr̥takr̥tyatā = is the accomplishment, that needs to be accomplished; prītistu = the affection; dvividhaḥ = is of two types; snēhaḥ = that of friendship; karmajō = born from the favourable action received; nija = natural/true; ēva = indeed; ca = and;]

"The happiness derived from love and aimed towards contentment is the accomplishment that needs to be accomplished. Indeed, the natural true affection is of two types, that of friendship, and that born because of receiving favourable action.
