योगस्थः कुरु कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा धनञ्जय। सिद्ध्यसिद्ध्योः समो भूत्वा समत्वं योग उच्यते ॥२-४८॥
yōgasthaḥ kuru karmāṇi saṅgaṁ tyaktvā dhanañjaya। siddhyasiddhyōḥ samō bhūtvā samatvaṁ yōga ucyatē ॥2-48॥
[yōgasthaḥ = situated in Yōga; kuru = perform; karmāṇi = prescribed duties; saṅgaṁ = friendship with outcomes, attachment to outcomes; tyaktvā = abandoning; dhanañjaya = O Dhananjaya; siddhyasiddhyōḥ = favourable and unfavourable outcomes; samō = equally; bhūtvā = react; samatvaṁ = equanimous; yōga = Yōga; ucyatē = is called;]
O Dhananjaya, situated in Yōga, perform prescribed duties without attachment to outcomes. By responding equally to favourable and unfavourable outcomes become equanimous. That only is called Yōga.
Gīta Tātparya 2.48
'saṅgaṁ' means being anxious for outcomes.
सङ्गं फलस्नेहम्॥४८॥
saṅgaṁ phalasnēham॥48॥
[saṅgaṁ = 'saṅgaṁ' means; phalasnēham = friendship with outcomes;]
'saṅgaṁ' means friendship with outcomes.
