B.G 7.24
अव्यक्तं व्यक्तिमापन्नं मन्यन्ते मामबुद्धयः। परं भावमजानन्तो ममाव्ययमनुत्तमम् ॥२४॥
avyaktaṁ vyaktimāpannaṁ manyante māmabuddhayaḥ। paraṁ bhāvamajānanto mamāvyayamanuttamam ॥24॥
[अव्यक्तं व्यक्तिम् आपन्नं मन्यन्ते माम् अबुद्धयः। परं भावम् अजानन्तः मम अव्ययम् अनुत्तमम्॥
अव्यक्तं (avyaktam) - the unmanifest; व्यक्तिम् (vyaktim) - manifestation; आपन्नं (āpannam) - having assumed; मन्यन्ते (manyante) - think; माम् (mām) - Me; अबुद्धयः (abuddhayaḥ) - the unintelligent ones; परं (param) - supreme; भावम् (bhāvam) - nature; अजानन्तः (ajānantaḥ) - not knowing; मम (mama) - My; अव्ययम् (avyayam) - imperishable; अनुत्तमम् (anuttamam) - unsurpassed;]
The unintelligent think of Me, the unmanifest, as having assumed a manifest form. They do not understand My supreme, imperishable, and unsurpassed nature.
Gīta Bhāshya 7.24
Speciality of the lord is his unmanifest form, 'avyaktam', which is different from others. 'bhavam' - the reality as it exists.
को विशेषः तव अन्येभ्यः इत्यत आह - 'अव्यक्तम्' इति।
ko viśeṣaḥ tava anyebhyaḥ ityata āha - 'avyaktam' iti।
[को (ko) - what; विशेषः (viśeṣaḥ) - distinction or superiority; तव (tava) - of You; अन्येभ्यः (anyebhyaḥ) - from others; इत्यतः (ityataḥ) - thus, therefore; आह (āha) - it is said; अव्यक्तम् (avyaktam) - unmanifest; इति (iti) - thus;]
What is the speciality of Yours compared to others? It is responded through 'Unmanifest' (avyaktam) verse.
कार्यदेहादि वर्जितम्। तद्वानिव प्रतीयसे इत्यत आह - 'व्यक्तिमापन्नम्मिम्' इति। कार्यदेहाद्यापन्नम्। तच्चोक्तम् -
kāryadehādi varjitam। tadvāniva pratīyase ityata āha - 'vyaktimāpannammim' iti। kāryadehādyāpannam। taccoktam -
[कार्य (kārya) - of effects or results; देह (deha) - body; आदि (ādi) - and so on; वर्जितम् (varjitam) - devoid of; तद्वान् (tad-vān) - as if possessing that; इव (iva) - as if; प्रतीयसे (pratīyase) - You appear; इत्यतः (ityataḥ) - thus, therefore; आह (āha) - it is said; व्यक्तिम् (vyaktim) - manifestation; आपन्नम् (āpannam) - assumed; इमम् (imam) - this; इति (iti) - thus; कार्य (kārya) - effect or result; देह (deha) - body; आदि (ādi) - and so on; आपन्नम् (āpannam) - assumed or obtained; तत् (tat) - that; च (ca) - and; उक्तम् (uktam) - has been said;]
Even though devoid of a physical body, You appear as if possessing them. Therefore, it is said - 'This manifest form has been assumed' (vyaktimāpannammim)". It means 'Having assumed a body and other effects'. That too has been stated:
'सदसतः परम्', 'न तस्य कार्यम्', 'अपाणिपादः', 'आनन्ददेहं पुरुषं मन्यन्ते गौणदैहिकम्'
'sadasataḥ param', 'na tasya kāryam', 'apāṇipādaḥ', 'ānandadehaṁ puruṣaṁ manyante gauṇadaihikam'
[सत् (sat) - the existent; असत् (asat) - the non-existent; परम् (param) - beyond; न (na) - not; तस्य (tasya) - of Him; कार्यम् (kāryam) - activity or effect; अ (a) - without; पाणि (pāṇi) - hands; पादः (pādaḥ) - feet; आनन्द (ānanda) - bliss; देहम् (deham) - body; पुरुषम् (puruṣam) - the person or being; मन्यन्ते (manyante) - consider; गौण (gauṇa) - secondary or metaphorical; दैहिकम् (daihikam) - corporeal or bodily;]
"Beyond existence and non-existence," "He has no actions or works," "Without hands and feet," "They consider the blissful form of the person as metaphorically corporeal."

[इति (iti) - thus; आदौ (ādau) - in such contexts;]

भावं याथार्थ्यम्। तथाऽब्रवीत्-
bhāvaṁ yāthārthyam। tathā'bravīt
[भावं (bhāvam) - the word 'bhāvam' is used to mean; याथार्थ्यम् (yāthārthyam) - reality as it exists; truth; तथा (tathā) - thus; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - said;]
The word 'bhāvam' is used to mean the reality as it exists. Thus, it is said:
"याथातथ्यम् अजानन्तः परं तस्य विमोहिताः।"
"yāthātathyam ajānantaḥ paraṁ tasya vimohitāḥ।"
[याथा (yāthā) - as it is; तथ्यम् (tathyam) - truth; reality; अजानन्तः (ajānantaḥ) - not knowing; परम् (param) - supreme; तस्य (tasya) - His; विमोहिताः (vimohitāḥ) - deluded or confused;]
"Not knowing the truth as it exists, they are deluded about His supreme nature."
