B.G 7.12
ये चैव सात्त्विका भावा राजसास्तामसाश्च ये। मत्त एवेति तान् विद्धि न त्वहं तेषु ते मयि ॥१२॥
ye caiva sāttvikā bhāvā rājasāstāmasāśca ye। matta eveti tān viddhi na tvahaṁ teṣu te mayi ॥12॥
[ये च एव सात्त्विकः भावः राजसः तामसः च ये। मत्तः एव इति तान् विद्धि न तु अहं तेषु ते मयि॥
ये (ye) - those who; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; सात्त्विकः (sāttvikaḥ) - of the nature of goodness; भावः (bhāvaḥ) - dispositions; राजसः (rājasaḥ) - of the nature of passion; तामसः (tāmasaḥ) - of the nature of ignorance; च (ca) - and; ये (ye) - those who; मत्तः (mattaḥ) - from Me; एव (eva) - indeed; इति (iti) - thus; तान् (tān) - them; विद्धि (viddhi) - know; न (na) - not; तु (tu) - but; अहं (ahaṁ) - I; तेषु (teṣu) - in them; ते (te) - they; मयि (mayi) - in Me;]
Know that all dispositions, whether they are of the nature of goodness, passion, or ignorance, arise from Me alone. However, I am not in them, but they are in Me.
Gīta Bhāshya 7.12
'I am not in them' - implies non-dependence of the Lord.
'न त्वहं तेषु' इति तदनाधारत्वम् उच्यते। उक्तं च-
'na tvahaṁ teṣu' iti tadanādhāratvam ucyate। uktaṁ ca -
[न (na) - not; तु (tu) - but; अहम् (aham) - I; तेषु (teṣu) - in them; इति (iti) - thus; तत् (tat) - that; अनाधारत्वम् (anādhāratvam) - non-dependence; उच्यते (ucyate) - is said; उक्तम् (uktam) - it is said; च (ca) - and;]
It is said, 'I am not in them,' which implies non-dependence. And it is also stated thus—
"तदाश्रितं जगत् सर्वं नासौ कुत्रचिदाश्रितः।"
"tadāśritaṁ jagat sarvaṁ nāsau kutracidāśritaḥ।"
[तत् (tat) - that (the Divine); आश्रितम् (āśritam) - supported/dependent; जगत् (jagat) - the world; सर्वम् (sarvam) - all; न (na) - not; असौ (asau) - He (the Divine); कुत्रचित् (kutracit) - anywhere; आश्रितः (āśritaḥ) - dependent;]
The entire world is dependent on Him (the Divine), but He is not dependent on anything, anywhere.
