Bhagavad Gīta Bhāshya
B.G 2.22
वासांसि जीर्णानि यथा विहाय नवानि गृह्णाति नरोऽपराणि। तथा शरीराणि विहाय जीर्णान्यन्यानि संयाति नवानि देही ॥ २-२२॥
vāsāṁsi jīrṇāni yathā vihāya navāni gr̥hṇāti narō'parāṇi। tathā śarīrāṇi vihāya jīrṇānyanyāni saṁyāti navāni dēhī ॥ 2-22॥
vāsāṁsi = cloths; jīrṇāni = worn out; yathā = the way; vihāya = casts off; navāni gr̥hṇāti = wears new ones; naraḥ aparāṇi = the being; tathā śarīrāṇi = similarly; vihāya jīrṇāni = gives up worn out; anyāni saṁyāti = takes up others; navāni dēhī = new body;
Just as a person casts off worn-out clothes and puts on new ones, similarly the being gives up worn-out bodies and takes up other bodies that are new.
Gīta Bhāshya 2.22
Discriminative knowledge between the body and the soul and its experiential knowledge is imparted.
देहात्मविवेकानुभवार्थं दृष्टान्तमाह– 'वासांसि' इति ॥ २२ ॥
dēhātmavivēkānubhavārthaṁ dr̥ṣṭāntamāha– vāsāṁsīti ॥ 22 ॥
[dēhātma vivēka = to impart a discriminative knowledge of the body and the soul; anubhavārthaṁ = to provide the experiential knowledge; dr̥ṣṭāntamāha = a metophor is provided 'vāsāṁsi' iti = in the 'vāsāṁsi' verse.]
To impart discriminative and experiential knowledge of the body and the soul, a metaphor is provided in the above 'vāsāṁsi' verse.

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
