Brahmasūtra Aṇu-Bhāṣya

श्रौतस्मृतिविरुद्धत्वात्‌ स्मृतयो न गुणान् हरेः। निषेद्धुं शक्नुयुर्वेदा नित्यत्वान्मानमुत्तमम्‌ ॥१॥

śrautasmr̥tiviruddhatvāt‌ smr̥tayō na guṇān harēḥ। niṣēddhuṁ śaknuyurvēdā nityatvānmānamuttamam‌ ॥1॥

When there is a conflict between sruti (vedas) and smriti (other man-made scriptures), smritis that doesn't praise the attributes of the Lord has to be discarded. Because Vedas are eternal, supreme, and not of human origin.

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
