1.3.17

य इदं परमं गुह्यं श्रावयेद् ब्रह्मसंसदि। प्रयतः श्राद्धकाले वा तदानन्त्याय कल्पते तदानन्त्याय कल्पते इति ॥१७॥

ya idaṃ paramaṃ guhyaṃ śrāvayed brahmasaṃsadi। prayataḥ śrāddhakāle vā tadānantyāya kalpate tadānantyāya kalpate iti ॥17॥

[यः (yaḥ) - who; इदम् (idam) - this; परमम् (paramam) - supreme; गुह्यम् (guhyam) - secret; श्रावयेत् (śrāvayet) - should recite; ब्रह्मसंसदि (brahmasaṃsadi) - in the assembly of Brahman; प्रयतः (prayataḥ) - with devotion; श्राद्धकाले (śrāddhakāle) - at the time of Śrāddha; वा (vā) - or; तदा (tadā) - then; अनन्त्याय (anantyāya) - to eternity; कल्पते (kalpate) - is destined; इति (iti) - thus;]

Whoever recites this supreme secret in the assembly of Brahman, with devotion, during the Śrāddha ceremony, is destined for eternity.

॥इति प्रथमाध्याये तृतीयावल्ली॥

॥iti prathamādhyāye tṛtīyāvallī॥

[इति (iti) - thus; प्रथमाध्याये (prathamādhyāye) - in the first chapter; तृतीयावल्ली (tṛtīyāvallī) - third section;]
