Kāthakopaniṣat Bhāshya (काठकोपनिषत् )
1.2.20
अणोरणीयान् महतो महीयान् आत्माऽस्य जन्तोर्निहितो गुहायाम्। तमक्रतुः पश्यति वीतशोको धातुः प्रसादान्महिमानमात्मनः ॥२०॥
aṇoraṇīyān mahato mahīyān ātmā'sya jantor nihito guhāyām । tam akratuḥ paśyati vītaśoko dhātuḥ prasādān mahimānam ātmanaḥ ॥20॥
[अणोः (aṇoḥ) - than the atom; अणीयान् (aṇīyān) - subtler; महतः (mahataḥ) - than the great; महीयान् (mahīyān) - greater; आत्मा (ātmā) - the essence of the being; अस्य (asya) - of this; जन्तोः (jantoḥ) - creature; निहितः (nihitaḥ) - lodged; गुहायाम् (guhāyām) - in the cave (of the heart); तम् (tam) - him; अक्रतुः (akratuḥ) - the non-performer; पश्यति (paśyati) - sees; वीत-शोकः (vīta-śokaḥ) - one who is free from sorrow; धातुः (dhātuḥ) - the creator; प्रसादात् (prasādāt) - by the grace; महिमानम् (mahimānam) - the glory; आत्मनः (ātmanaḥ) - of the Self;]
This essence of being, ātmā, subtler than the atom and greater than the great, is lodged in the heart of the creature. That 'akratuḥ', i.e. person who knowns he in reality is a non-performer, who is free from sorrow, sees through the Creator’s grace, and realizes the glory of the ātmā.
Bhāṣya 1.2.20
एवं नित्यस्य जन्तोः गुहायां निहितः। ए विष्णौ क्रतुर्यस्य सः अक्रतुः तन्निश्चयः। आत्मनः सकाशात् महिमानं महामानम्।
evaṁ nityasya jantoḥ guhāyāṁ nihitaḥ । e viṣṇau kratur yasya saḥ akratuḥ tan niścayaḥ । ātmanaḥ sakāśāt mahimānaṁ mahāmānam ।
[एवं (evaṁ) - thus; नित्यस्य (nityasya) - of the eternal; जन्तोः (jantoḥ) - of the being; गुहायाम् (guhāyām) - in the cave (of the heart); निहितः (nihitaḥ) - placed; ए (e) - indeed; विष्णौ (viṣṇau) - in Viṣṇu; क्रतुः (kratuḥ) - the actor; यस्य (yasya) - whose; सः (saḥ) - he; अक्रतुः (akratuḥ) - non-actor; तत् (tat) - that; निश्चयः (niścayaḥ) - determination; आत्मनः (ātmanaḥ) - of the ātman; सकाशात् (sakāśāt) - from the presence; महिमानम् (mahimānam) - glory; महामानम् (mahāmānam) - the greatest measure;]
Thus, the eternal is placed in the secret cave (of the heart) of the creature. The 'akratuḥ', i.e. person who knowns he is in reality a non-performer, knows with determination that lord Vishnu alone acts. From the ātman’s presence arises the glory — the greatest greatness.
"जीवात् गुणपरीमाणं यस्माद्विष्णोर्महत्तरम्। तस्मात् जीवात् स महिमा विष्णुरित्युच्यते श्रुतौ॥"
"jīvāt guṇaparīmāṇaṁ yasmād viṣṇor mahattaram । tasmāt jīvāt sa mahimā viṣṇur ity ucyate śrutau॥"
[जीवात् (jīvāt) - than the individual being; गुण-परीमाणम् (guṇa-parīmāṇam) - the measure of qualities; यस्मात् (yasmāt) - because; विष्णोः (viṣṇoḥ) - of Viṣṇu; महत्तरम् (mahattaram) - greater; तस्मात् (tasmāt) - therefore; जीवात् (jīvāt) - than the individual soul; सः (saḥ) - that; महिमा (mahimā) - greatness; विष्णुः (viṣṇuḥ) - Viṣṇu; इति (iti) - thus; उच्यते (ucyate) - is said; श्रुतौ (śrutau) - in the Śruti;]
"Because lord Viṣṇu's measure of qualities is greater than that of the individual being, therefore His greatness is said to be - the greatest greatness."

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
