- Jayanti Nirnaya 01
rōhiṇyāmardharātrē tu yadā kālāṣṭamī bhavēt। jayantī nāma sā prōktā sarvapāpapraṇāśinī। yasyāṁ jātō hariḥ sākṣāt niśīthē bhagavānajaḥ ॥1॥
When Rōhini star is in the middle of the night, on the tenth day of the dark lunar fortnight, is given the name - 'Jayanti'. It dissolves all bad impressions. On this night, the unborn lord Hari was born.

tasmāt taddinamatyantaṁ puṇyaṁ pāpaharaṁ param। tasmāt sarvairupōṣyā sā jayantī nāma vai sadā। dvijātibhirviśēṣēṇa tadbhaktaiśca viśēṣataḥ ॥2॥
Therefore that day is supremely auspicious and removes all sins. Hence, on Jayanti day, fasting is a must for all. Fasting must be observed particularly by the twice borns, also by his special devotees.

yō bhuṅktē taddinē mōhāt pūyaśōṇitamatti saḥ। tasmādupavasēt puṇyaṁ taddinaṁ śraddhayānvitaḥ ॥3॥
Those who eat that day driven by infatuation are drinking pus and blood. Therefore, with faith fast on that holy day.

kr̥tvā śaucaṁ yathānyāyaṁ snānaṁ kuryādatandritaḥ। prabhātakālē mēdhāvī yōgāyēti yathāvidhi ॥4॥
The intelligent man, leaving laziness, should complete purification rituals in the morning. Then he should take a bath reciting 'Yōgāya' verse according to custom.

nityāhnikaṁ prakurvīta bhagavantamanusmaran। yōgāya yōgapatayē yōgēśvarāya yōgasambhavāya śrīgōvindāya namō namaḥ॥
madhyāhnakālē ca pumān sāyaṅkālē tvatandritaḥ। snāyīta pūrvamantrēṇa vāsudēvamanusmaran ॥5॥
One should perform their daily activities repeatedly remembering the Lord.
Obeisances to Yōga, to the master of Yōga, to the lord of Yōga, to the one who makes Yōga possible; I bow to that lord Gōvinda repeatedly.
The person without being lazy should take a bath in the afternoon and in the evening. While taking bath, reciting the previously stated mantra (Yōgāya), he should meditate on lord Vāsudēva.

tataḥ pūjāṁ prakurvīta vidhivat susamāhitaḥ। yajñāyēti ca mantrēṇa śraddhābhaktiyutaḥ pumān ॥6॥
Then, the devotee establishing himself in equanimity, having faith and devotion, must worship diligently as per prescribed norms, meditating on 'yajnāya' mantra.

kr̥ṣṇaṁ ca balabhadraṁ ca vasudēvaṁ ca dēvakīm। nandagōpaṁ yaśōdāṁ ca subhadrāṁ tatra pūjayēt ॥7॥
Then, one should worship lord Krishna, brother Balarāma, father Vasudeva, mother Dēvakī, the cowherd Nanda, mother Yasodā, and sister Subhadrā.

arghyaṁ datvā samabhyarcyābhyuditē śaśimaṇḍalē।
Offering 'arghya' (pure water), worship the rising moon.
- Jayanti Nirnaya 09
"kṣīrōdārṇavasambhūta atrigōtra samudbhava। gr̥hāṇārghyaṁ mayā dattaṁ rōhiṇyā sahitaḥ śaśin॥"
"He was born in the milky ocean and is of Atri clan. O Moon along with Rohini star, please accept the 'Arghya' offered by me."
datvārghyaṁ manunānēna hyupasthāya vidhuṁ budhaḥ ॥9॥
Having offered the 'Arghya' to Moon this way, the wise mans stands attending.
- Jayanti Nirnaya 10
"śaśinē candradēvāya sōmadēvāya cēndavē। mr̥giṇē sitabimbāya lōkadīpāya dīpinē। śītadīdhitibimbāya tārakāpatayē namaḥ" ॥10॥
"O lord with mark of deer, to the Moon lord, to the lord of nectar, to the powerful one, to the one with white reflection, to the lamp of the world, to the illuminator, to the one with cold radiance, to the lord of the stars, salutation to you."

upasaṁhr̥tya tat sarvaṁ brahmacārī jitēndriyaḥ। viśvāyēti ca mantrēṇa tataḥ svāpaṁ samācarēt ॥11॥
Then, meditating 'Vishvāya' mantra, withholding all desires, observing celibacy, with conquered senses, one should practice a dream state, i.e. go to sleep.
- Jayanti Nirnaya 12
tatō nityāhnikaṁ kr̥tvā śaktitō dīyatāṁ dhanam। sarvāyēti ca mantrēṇa tataḥ pāraṇamācarēt। dharmāyēti tataḥ svasthō mucyatē sarvakilbiṣaiḥ ॥12॥
Then, after completing daily morning prayer, meditating on 'sarvāya' mantra and should donate money as per one's capacity. Then meditating on 'dharmāya' mantra one should break the fast. By this one becomes free from all bad imprints and gains health.
॥ iti śrīmadānandatīrthabhagavatpādācāryaviracitō jayantīnirṇayaḥ samāptaḥ॥
