B.G 2.42 and 43
यामिमां पुष्पितां वाचं प्रवदन्त्यविपश्चितः। वेदवादरताः पार्थ नान्यदस्तीति वादिनः ॥२-४२॥
कामात्मानः स्वर्गपरा जन्मकर्मफलप्रदाम्। क्रियाविशेषबहुलां भोगैश्वर्यगतिं प्रति ॥२-४३॥
yāmimāṁ puṣpitāṁ vācaṁ pravadantyavipaścitaḥ। vēdavādaratāḥ pārtha nānyadastīti vādinaḥ ॥2-42॥
kāmātmānaḥ svargaparā janmakarmaphalapradām। kriyāviśēṣabahulāṁ bhōgaiśvaryagatiṁ prati ॥2-43॥
[याम् इमां पुष्पितां वाचं प्रवदन्ति अविपश्चितः। वेदवादरताः पार्थ न अन्यत् अस्ति इति वादिनः ॥
काम आत्मानः स्वर्गपरा जन्मकर्म फलप्रदाम्। क्रियाविशेष बहुलां भोग ऐश्वर्य गतिं प्रति ॥
yām imāṁ = all these; puṣpitāṁ = flowery; vācaṁ = language; pravadanti =say; avipaścitaḥ = with an inaccurate vision of reality; vēdavādaratāḥ = advocaters of vedic ritualism; pārtha = Arjuna; na = not; anyat = others; asti = exists; iti = thus; vādinaḥ = they advocate; kāma = sensual pleasure; ātmānaḥ = having as essence; svargaparā = heaven as ultimate; janmakarma = actions after birth; phalapradām = are the fruits one gets;। kriyāviśēṣa = specialities of the actions; bahulāṁ = various; bhōga = enjoyments; aiśvarya = wealth; gatiṁ = end goal; prati = towards;]
O Pārtha, those who are attracted to the flowery language of Vedas with an inaccurate perception of reality, promote Vedic ritualism and claim that nothing else exists. Driven by sensual pleasures, they proclaim heaven as the ultimate reward for the actions performed after birth. They recommend various specialised actions directed towards material enjoyment and wealth as the end goal.
