He who will speak this supreme secret to my devotees, having done supreme devotion to me, will come to me without doubt. And among men, there is no one dearer to me than he, nor will there be anyone dearer on earth. Whoever studies this sacred dialogue of ours through the sacrifice of knowledge, I shall be pleased by him; this is my opinion. A faithful and non-envious man who may hear, he too, being liberated, may attain the auspicious worlds of pious deeds.
Gīta Tātparya 18.68 to 71
Gradation among the liberated is indicated. Liberation is achieved just by knowing Lord Viṣṇu. Among them, it is better to hear from the scriptures. The joy in liberation is greater when one studies, and even more so for the explainer.
"He is also liberated", "and not among men than him" - this statement indicates the significant gradation among the liberated. The qualification "among men" suggests that even among them, the gods hold superiority.
"Liberation is achieved just by knowing Lord Viṣṇu. Among them, it is better to hear from the scriptures. The joy in liberation is greater when one studies, and even more so for the explainer. However, it is much greater for the gods because it is primarily explained by them."
- stated thus as well.
