Bhagavad Gīta Bhāshya and Tātparya
B.G 10.31
पवनः पवतामस्मि रामः शस्त्रभृतामहम्। झषाणां मकरश्चास्मि स्रोतसामस्मि जाह्नवी ॥३१॥
I am the wind among purifiers, Rāma among wielders of weapons; among aquatic creatures, I am the makara, and among rivers, I am the Gaṅgā (Jāhnavī).
Gīta Bhāshya 10.31
'Rāma' - one who is of the nature of bliss, complete, and delights the worlds.
आनन्दरूपत्वात् पूर्णत्वात् लोकरमणाच्च रामः।
He is called Rāma because He is of the nature of bliss, complete, and delights the worlds.
"आनन्दरूपो निष्परीमाण एष लोकश्चैतस्मात् रमते तेन रामः।"
"He is of the nature of bliss, immeasurable; and the world delights in Him — therefore He is called Rāma."
-इति शाण्डिल्यशाखायाम्।
- stated thus in the Śāṇḍilya branch of Vedic testimonial.
रश्च अमश्च इति व्युत्पत्तिः ॥३१॥
The etymological derivation is ‘ra’ + ‘ama’.

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
