अर्जुन उवाच -
अथ केन प्रयुक्तोऽयं पापं चरति पूरुषः। अनिच्छन्नपि वार्ष्णेय बलादिव नियोजितः ॥३६॥
arjuna uvāca -
atha kēna prayuktō'yaṁ pāpaṁ carati pūruṣaḥ। anicchannapi vārṣṇēya balādiva niyōjitaḥ ॥36॥
[अर्जुन उवाच - अथ केन प्रयुक्तः अयं पापं चरति पूरुषः। अनिच्छन अपि वार्ष्णेय बलात् इव नियोजितः ॥३६॥
arjuna uvāca = Arjun said; atha = now; kēna = by what; prayuktaḥ = impelled; ayaṁ = this; pāpaṁ = sin; carati = commits; pūruṣaḥ = the person;। anicchana api = even without desiring; vārṣṇēya = O descendant of Vrishni (Krishna); balāt = by force; iva = as though; niyōjitaḥ = engaged / driven;॥36॥]
Arjuna said:
O Krishna, now, impelled by what the person commits sin, even without desiring, as if driven by force?

The question stems from the statement - "One should not come under their sway" (3.34).
बहवः कर्मकारणाः सन्ति। क्रोधादयः कामश्च। तत्रकः बलवान् इति पृच्छति - अथेति॥
bahavaḥ karmakāraṇāḥ santi। krōdhādayaḥ kāmaśca। tatrakaḥ balavān iti pr̥cchati - athēti॥
[bahavaḥ = many; karmakāraṇāḥ = actions and causes; santi = exist;। krōdhādayaḥ = the anger and others; kāmaśca = and desire as well;। tatrakaḥ = among them, which has; balavān = more strength; iti pr̥cchati = thus asks; athēti = 'atha' verse;॥]
Many actions and causes exist such as the anger, desire, etc. Among them, which has more strength? So asks in 'atha' verse.
अथेत्यर्थान्तरम्। "तयोर्न वशमागच्छेत्" इति प्रश्नप्रापकम् ॥३६॥
athētyarthāntaram। "tayōrna vaśamāgacchēt" iti praśnaprāpakam ॥36॥
[athētyarthāntaram = the word 'atha' indicates a change of context;। "tayōrna vaśamāgacchēt" = "one should never come under their sway" (3.34) iti praśnaprāpakam = from it originates the question;॥36॥]
The word 'atha' shows a change of context. The question stems from the statement - "One should not come under these twos sway" (3.34).

Lord is the primary driver and gods are intermediatory drivers. Apart from these, what drives one's action?
परमेश्वरात् देवेभ्यश्च अर्वाक्तनम् प्रेरकं पृच्छति - अथ केनेति ॥३६॥
paramēśvarāt dēvēbhyaśca arvāktanam prērakaṁ pr̥cchati - atha kēnēti ॥36॥
[paramēśvarāt = from the Supreme Lord; dēvēbhyaśca = and from the gods; arvāktanam = directly, without, intermediary; prērakaṁ = motivating; pr̥cchati = inquires; atha kēnēti = 'atha kēnēti', i.e. 'then, by what?', verse. ॥36॥]
Apart from the direct influence of the Supreme lord, the intermediate influence of gods, To know what else drives one's action, it is asked in the verse - 'atha kēnēti', i.e. 'then, by what?'
