B.G 2.27
जातस्य हि ध्रुवो मृत्युर्ध्रुवं जन्म मृतस्य च। तस्मादपरिहार्येऽर्थे न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि ॥२-२७॥
jātasya hi dhruvo mr̥tyurdhruvaṁ janma mr̥tasya ca। tasmādaparihārye'rthe na tvaṁ śocitumarhasi ॥2-27॥
[जातस्य हि ध्रुवो मृत्युः धृवं जन्म मृतस्य च। तस्मात् अपरिहार्ये अर्थे न त्वं शोचितुम् अर्हसि॥
jātasya = of one who is born; hi = certain; dhruvo = it is a fact, inevitable; mr̥tyuḥ = death; dhr̥vaṁ = it is also inevitable; janma = birth; mr̥tasya ca = for one who dies;। tasmāt = therefore; aparihārye = which is unavoidable; arthe = subject; na = not; tvaṁ = you; śocitum arhasi = should grieve;]
Death is inevitable for one who is born and birth is inevitable for one who dies. Therefore, you should not grieve over what is unavoidable.
Gīta Bhāshya 2.27
Don't grieve over what is unavoidable.
कुतः अशोकः? नियतत्वात् इत्याह – जातस्येति ॥२७॥
kutaḥ aśokaḥ? niyatatvāt ityāha – jātasyeti ॥27॥
[kutaḥ = why; aśokaḥ? = one should not grieve? niyatatvāt ityāha = it is inevetibale, so said in – jātasyeti = 'jātasyeti' verse;]
Why one should not grieve? Because it is inevitable, so said in 'jātasyeti' verse.
Gīta Tātparya 2.27
Death is inevitable, don't be surprised!
तस्मात् नात्र आश्चर्यबुद्धिः कर्तव्या ॥२७॥
tasmāt nātra āścaryabuddhiḥ kartavyā ॥27॥
[tasmāt = therefore; nātra āścaryabuddhiḥ = there is no need to be surprised (about birth and death of the being); kartavyā = is worth doing;]
Therefore, it is not worth to be surprised about birth and death of the beings.
