Bhagavad Gīta Bhāshya and Tātparya
B.G 10.26
अश्वत्थः सर्ववृक्षाणां देवर्षीणां च नारदः। गन्धर्वाणां चित्ररथः सिद्धानां कपिलो मुनिः ॥२६॥
aśvatthaḥ sarva-vṛkṣāṇām, devarṣīṇāṁ ca nāradaḥ. gandharvāṇām citrarathaḥ, siddhānāṁ kapilo muniḥ ॥26॥
[अश्वत्थः (aśvatthaḥ) - the Aśvattha tree (sacred fig); सर्ववृक्षाणाम् (sarva-vṛkṣāṇām) - among all trees; देवर्षीणाम् (devarṣīṇām) - among divine sages; च (ca) - and; नारदः (nāradaḥ) - Nārada; गन्धर्वाणाम् (gandharvāṇām) - among Gandharvas; चित्ररथः (citrarathaḥ) - Citraratha; सिद्धानाम् (siddhānām) - among the perfected beings; कपिलः (kapilaḥ) - Kapila; मुनिः (muniḥ) - the sage.]
Among all trees, I am the sacred fig (Aśvattha); among divine sages, I am Nārada; among Gandharvas, I am Citraratha; among perfected beings, I am the sage Kapila.
Gīta Bhāshya 10.26
'Kapila' - who is of the nature of bliss, who sustains the world, and into whom it dissolves; 'ṛṣi' - is the wise one who knows the previously born, and the going to be born.
सुखरूपः पाल्यते लीयते च जगदनेन इति कपिलः।
sukha-rūpaḥ pālyate līyate ca jagat anena iti kapilaḥ.
[सुखरूपः (sukha-rūpaḥ) - of the nature of bliss; पाल्यते (pālyate) - is sustained; लीयते (līyate) - is dissolved; च (ca) - and; जगत् (jagat) - the world; अनेन (anena) - by him; इति (iti) - thus; कपिलः (kapilaḥ) - is Kapila.]
Kapila is of the nature of bliss, who sustains the world, and into whom it dissolves.
"प्रीतिः सुखं कं आनन्दः"
"prītiḥ sukhaṁ kaṁ ānandaḥ"
[प्रीतिः (prītiḥ) - affection; सुखम् (sukham) - happiness; कम् (kam) - 'ka' as bliss; आनन्दः (ānandaḥ) - bliss.]
“Prīti means delight, sukha is happiness, ‘kaṁ’ is bliss, and ānanda is supreme joy.”
इत्याद्यभिधानात्।
ity-ādya-abhidhānāt.
[इति (iti) - thus; आद्य (ādya) - and similar; अभिधानात् (abhidhānāt) - from the expressions or designations.]
- stated thus in traditional designations.
"प्राणो ब्रह्म कं ब्रह्म खं ब्रह्म"
"prāṇo brahma, kaṁ brahma, khaṁ brahma"
[प्राणः (prāṇaḥ) - life-breath; ब्रह्म (brahma) - is Brahman; कम् (kam) - bliss; ब्रह्म (brahma) - is Brahman; खम् (kham) - space or ether; ब्रह्म (brahma) - is Brahman.]
"Life-breath is Brahman, 'kaṁ' (bliss) is Brahman, and 'kham' (space) is Brahman."

iti ca.
[इति (iti) - thus; च (ca) - and.]
- stated thus as well.
"ऋषिं प्रसूतं कपिलं यस्तमग्रे ज्ञानैर्बिभर्ति जायमानं च पश्येत्। सुखादनन्तात् पालनात् लीयनाच्च यं वै देवं कपिलमुदाहरन्ति॥"
"ṛṣiṁ prasūtaṁ kapilaṁ yaḥ tam agre jñānaiḥ bibharti, jāyamānaṁ ca paśyet. sukhāt anantāt pālanāt līyanāt ca yaṁ vai devaṁ kapilam udāharanti॥"
[ऋषिम् (ṛṣim) - the sage; प्रसूतम् (prasūtam) - born; कपिलम् (kapilam) - Kapila; यः (yaḥ) - who; तम् (tam) - him; अग्रे (agre) - in the beginning; ज्ञानैः (jñānaiḥ) - through wisdoms; बिभर्ति (bibharti) - supports; जायमानम् (jāyamānam) - the one being born; च (ca) - and; पश्येत् (paśyet) - sees; सुखात् (sukhāt) - from bliss; अनन्तात् (anantāt) - from the infinite; पालनात् (pālanāt) - from sustaining; लीयनात् (līyanāt) - from dissolution; च (ca) - and; यम् (yam) - whom; वै (vai) - indeed; देवम् (devam) - the god; कपिलम् (kapilam) - Kapila; उदाहरन्ति (udāharanti) - they declare.]
"He is to be known as the 'ṛṣi', i.e. sage, because He is the wise one who knows the previously born, and the going to be born. He is to be known as 'Kapila' as he supports, provides infinite bliss, and dissolves."
इति बाभ्रव्यशाखायाम् ॥२६॥
iti bābhravya-śākhāyām ॥26॥
[इति (iti) - thus; बाभ्रव्यशाखायाम् (bābhravya-śākhāyām) - in the Bābhravya branch; ॥२६॥ - verse 26.]
- stated thus in the Bābhravya branch.

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
