Gīta Tātparya 17.12 and 13
Those who act without faith in Lord Viṣṇu are driven by unworthy desires and are reborn. If one engages in forbidden actions, they are destined for hell. However, one's own actions in swa-dharma always yield great results.

"Heaven as described in royal sacrifices is considered imaginary. It is a realm of the lesser gods, named along with Indra and others. Those who act without faith in Lord Viṣṇu, driven by unworthy desires, are reborn; they go to hell and, without sacrifice, are led by passion to the world of men. If one engages in forbidden actions, they are destined for hell. Occasionally, even those who are virtuous may act out of passion or ignorance. Others and another, thus also, the state of these is natural again. However, one's own actions always yield great results. Another's is characterised by abundance, and small results."
