B.G 7.26
वेदाहं समतीतानि वर्तमानानि चार्जुन। भविष्याणि च भूतानि मां तु वेद न कश्चन ॥२६॥
vedāhaṁ samatītāni vartamānāni cārjuna। bhaviṣyāṇi ca bhūtāni māṁ tu veda na kaścana ॥26॥
[वेद अहम् समतीतानि वर्तमानानि च अर्जुन। भविष्याणि च भूतानि माम् तु वेद न कश्चन॥
वेद (veda) - knows; अहम् (aham) - I; समतीतानि (samatītāni) - the past; वर्तमानानि (vartamānāni) - the present; च (ca) - and; अर्जुन (arjuna) - O Arjuna; भविष्याणि (bhaviṣyāṇi) - the future; च (ca) - and; भूतानि (bhūtāni) - beings (or entities); माम् (mām) - Me; तु (tu) - but; वेद (veda) - knows; न (na) - not; कश्चन (kaścana) - anyone;]
I know the past, the present, and the future, O Arjuna, as well as all beings; but there is no one who knows Me.
Gīta Bhāshya 7.26
Māya does not bind the Lord. It is impossible to know Him only by self effort.
न मां माया बध्नाति इत्याह - वेद इति। न कश्चन अतिसमर्थोऽपि स्वसामर्थ्यात् ॥२६॥
na māṁ māyā badhnāti ityāha - veda iti। na kaścana atisamartho'pi svasāmarthyāt ॥26॥
[न (na) - not; माम् (mām) - Me; माया (māyā) - illusion; बध्नाति (badhnāti) - binds; इति (iti) - thus; आह (āha) - it is said; वेद (veda) - knows; इति (iti) - thus; न (na) - not; कश्चन (kaścana) - anyone; अतिसमर्थः (atisamarthaḥ) - exceedingly capable; अपि (api) - even; स्व (sva) - own; सामर्थ्यात् (sāmarthyāt) - due to capability;]
In the verse 'veda' it is conveyed - "Maya does not bind Me". The words 'not anyone' show, even if one is exceedingly capable, it is impossible (to know) by their own self capabilities.
Gīta Tātparya 7.26
It is only by the grace of the Lord Hari it is possible to know Him, that too, according to one's limited capacity.
"यथाऽत्मानं हरिर्वेत्ति तथाऽन्ये नैव तं विदुः। जानन्ति किञ्चित् क्रमशः रमाध्याः तत्प्रसादतः॥"
"yathā'tmānaṁ harirvetti tathā'nye naiva taṁ viduḥ। jānanti kiñcit kramaśaḥ ramādhyāḥ tatprasādataḥ॥"
[यथा (yathā) - as; आत्मानम् (ātmānam) - Himself; हरिः (hariḥ) - Lord Hari (Vishnu); वेद्त्ति (vedti) - knows; तथा (tathā) - so; अन्ये (anye) - others; न (na) - not; एव (eva) - indeed; तम् (tam) - Him; विदुः (viduḥ) - know; जानन्ति (jānanti) - know; किञ्चित् (kiñcit) - a little; क्रमशः (kramaśaḥ) - gradually; रमा (ramā) - Lakshmi (the consort of Vishnu); आद्याः (ādyāḥ) - and others; तत्-प्रसादतः (tat-prasādataḥ) - by His grace;]
"As Lord Hari knows Himself, so others do not know Him. Lakshmi and others know Him in a limited way, according to their capacity, respectively, and that too, by His grace."
