Bhagavad Gīta Bhāshya and Tātparya
B.G 2.48
योगस्थः कुरु कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा धनञ्जय। सिद्ध्यसिद्ध्योः समो भूत्वा समत्वं योग उच्यते ॥२-४८॥
yogasthaḥ kuru karmāṇi saṅgaṃ tyaktvā dhanañjaya। siddhyasiddhyoḥ samo bhūtvā samatvaṃ yoga ucyate ॥2-48॥
[योगस्थः (yogasthaḥ) - steadfast in yoga; कुरु (kuru) - perform; कर्माणि (karmāṇi) - actions; सङ्गं (saṅgam) - attachment; त्यक्त्वा (tyaktvā) - having abandoned; धनञ्जय (dhanañjaya) - O Dhananjaya; सिद्धि (siddhi) - success; असिद्ध्योः (asiddhyoḥ) - and failure; समः (samaḥ) - equanimous; भूत्वा (bhūtvā) - having become; समत्वं (samatvam) - equanimity; योगः (yogaḥ) - yoga; उच्यते (ucyate) - is called;]
(O Dhananjaya, perform your duties steadfast in yoga, abandoning attachment, and maintaining equanimity in success and failure. This equanimity is what is called yoga.)
O Dhananjaya, situated in Yōga, perform prescribed duties without attachment to outcomes. By responding equally to favourable and unfavourable outcomes become equanimous. That only is called Yōga.
Gīta Bhāshya 2.48
'saṅgaṁ' means being anxious for outcomes. Abandoning such anxiety respond equally towards favourable and unfavourable outcomes. To be situated always in such an equanimous state is Yōga.
पूर्वश्लोकोक्तं स्पष्टयति - 'योगस्थ' इति। योगस्थः उपायस्थः। सङ्गं फलस्नेहं त्यक्त्वा तत एव सिद्ध्यसिद्ध्योः समो भूत्वा। स एव च मयोक्तो योगः ॥४८॥
pūrvaślokoktaṃ spaṣṭayati - 'yogastha' iti। yogasthaḥ upāyasthaḥ। saṅgaṃ phalasnehaṃ tyaktvā tata eva siddhyasiddhyoḥ samo bhūtvā। sa eva ca mayokto yogaḥ ॥48॥
[पूर्व (pūrva) - previous; श्लोक (śloka) - verse; उक्तं (uktaṃ) - said; स्पष्टयति (spaṣṭayati) - clarifies; योगस्थ (yogastha) - established in yoga; इति (iti) - thus; योगस्थः (yogasthaḥ) - established in yoga; उपायस्थः (upāyasthaḥ) - established in means; सङ्गं (saṅgam) - attachment; फल (phala) - fruit; स्नेहं (sneham) - affection; त्यक्त्वा (tyaktvā) - having abandoned; तत (tata) - then; एव (eva) - indeed; सिद्धि (siddhi) - success; असिद्ध्योः (asiddhyoḥ) - and failure; समः (samaḥ) - equal; भूत्वा (bhūtvā) - having become; सः (saḥ) - he; एव (eva) - indeed; च (ca) - and; मया (mayā) - by me; उक्तः (uktaḥ) - said; योगः (yogaḥ) - yoga; ४८ (48) - 48;]
(The previous verse clarifies the concept of being 'established in yoga'. Being established in yoga means being established in the means. By abandoning attachment and affection for the results, one becomes equal in success and failure. This is the yoga that I have described.)
The topics of the previous verse are further clarified by the 'yōgastha' verse. 'yōgastha' means one who is engaged in the prescribed solution. 'saṅgaṁ' means friendship with outcomes. Abandon friendship with outcomes, which means responding equally towards favourable and unfavourable outcomes. That only is the Yōga taught by me.
Gīta Tātparya 2.48
'saṅgaṁ' - being anxious for outcomes.
सङ्गं फलस्नेहम्॥४८॥
saṅgaṁ phalasneham॥48॥
[सङ्गम् (saṅgam) - attachment; फलस्नेहम् (phalasneham) - desire for fruits;]
(Attachment and desire for results.)
'saṅgaṁ' means friendship with outcomes.

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
