B.G 2.37
हतो वा प्राप्स्यसि स्वर्गं जित्वा वा भोक्ष्यसे महीम्। तस्मादुत्तिष्ठ कौन्तेय युद्धाय कृतनिश्चयः ॥२-३७॥
hato vā prāpsyasi svargaṁ jitvā vā bhokṣyase mahīm। tasmāduttiṣṭha kaunteya yuddhāya kṛtaniścayaḥ ॥2-37॥
[हतः (hataḥ) - slain; वा (vā) - or; प्राप्स्यसि (prāpsyasi) - you will attain; स्वर्गम् (svargam) - heaven; जित्वा (jitvā) - having conquered; वा (vā) - or; भोक्ष्यसे (bhokṣyase) - you will enjoy; महीम् (mahīm) - the earth; तस्मात् (tasmāt) - therefore; उत्तिष्ठ (uttiṣṭha) - arise; कौन्तेय (kaunteya) - O son of Kunti; युद्धाय (yuddhāya) - for battle; कृतनिश्चयः (kṛtaniścayaḥ) - with determination;]
(If you are killed, you will attain heaven; if victorious, you will enjoy the earth. Therefore, stand up, O son of Kunti, and fight with determination.)
O son of Kunti, If killed, you will attain heaven; if victorious, you will enjoy the earth. Therefore, rise, determined to fight.

Within the purview of one's own duty, 'swa-dharma', fighting for the right cause is always beneficial.
जित्वा स्वर्गं महीं च।
jitvā svargaṃ mahīṃ ca।
[जित्वा (jitvā) - having conquered; स्वर्गं (svargaṃ) - heaven; महीं (mahīṃ) - earth; च (ca) - and;]
(Having conquered both heaven and earth.)
Being victorious, you will enjoy both heaven and rulership over earth.
"ये युद्ध्यन्ते प्रधनेषु शूरासो ये तनुत्यजः"
"ye yuddhyante pradhaneṣu śūrāso ye tanutyajaḥ"
[ये (ye) - those who; युद्ध्यन्ते (yuddhyante) - fight; प्रधनेषु (pradhaneṣu) - in battles; शूरासः (śūrāsaḥ) - heroes; ये (ye) - those who; तनुत्यजः (tanutyajaḥ) - sacrifice their bodies;]
(The heroes who fight in battles and sacrifice their bodies are truly valiant.)
"Those who fight on the battlefield forsaking their body are brave."
