Shat.Upa Invocation

ॐ भद्रं कर्णेभिः शृणुयाम देवा भद्रं पश्येमाक्षभिर्यजत्राः। स्थिरैरङगैस्तुष्टुवान् सस्तनुभिर्व्यशेम देवहितं यदायुः॥

oṃ bhadraṃ karṇebhiḥ śṛṇuyāma devā bhadraṃ paśyemākṣabhiryajatrāḥ। sthirairaṅgaistuṣṭuvān sastanubhirvyaśema devahitaṃ yadāyuḥ॥

[ॐ (oṃ) - Om; भद्रं (bhadram) - auspicious; कर्णेभिः (karṇebhiḥ) - with ears; शृणुयाम (śṛṇuyāma) - may we hear; देवा (devā) - O gods; भद्रं (bhadram) - auspicious; पश्येम (paśyema) - may we see; अक्षभिः (akṣabhiḥ) - with eyes; यजत्राः (yajatrāḥ) - O worshipful ones; स्थिरैः (sthiraiḥ) - with firm; अङगैः (aṅgaiḥ) - limbs; तुष्टुवान् (tuṣṭuvān) - praising; सः (saḥ) - he; तनुभिः (tanubhiḥ) - with bodies; व्यशेम (vyaśema) - may we live; देवहितं (devahitam) - for the welfare of the gods; यत् (yat) - which; आयुः (āyuḥ) - life;]

Om, O gods, O worshipful ones, may we hear auspicious things with our ears, may we see auspicious things with our eyes. With firm limbs, praising, may we live our life for the welfare of the gods.

स्वस्ति न इन्द्रो वृद्धश्रवाः स्वस्ति नः पूषा विश्ववेदाः। स्वस्ति नास्तार्क्षयो अरिष्टनेमिः स्वस्ति नो बृहस्पतिर्धातु॥

svasti na indro vṛddhaśravāḥ svasti naḥ pūṣā viśvavedāḥ। svasti nāstārkṣayo ariṣṭanemiḥ svasti no bṛhaspatirdhātu॥

[स्वस्ति (svasti) - well-being; न (na) - not; इन्द्रः (indraḥ) - Indra; वृद्धश्रवाः (vṛddhaśravāḥ) - of great fame; स्वस्ति (svasti) - well-being; नः (naḥ) - our; पूषा (pūṣā) - Pūṣā; विश्ववेदाः (viśvavedāḥ) - knower of all; स्वस्ति (svasti) - well-being; नः (naḥ) - our; तार्क्ष्यः (tārkṣyaḥ) - Tārkṣya; अरिष्टनेमिः (ariṣṭanemiḥ) - with unbroken wheel; स्वस्ति (svasti) - well-being; नः (naḥ) - our; बृहस्पतिः (bṛhaspatiḥ) - Bṛhaspati; धातु (dhātu) - may establish;]

May Indra, renowned and of great fame, bless us with well-being. May Pūṣā, the all-knowing, ensure our prosperity. May Tārkṣya, with his unbroken wheel, protect us, and may Bṛhaspati establish our welfare.

Bhāṣya Invocation

Obeisance to that Supreme Lord Vāsudeva, the creator beginning with prāṇa, to the intense unending bliss, to the knower.

॥ हरिः ॐ॥

[हरिः (hariḥ) - Lord Hari or Vishnu; ॐ (oṁ) - sacred syllable]

Hari is Om.

नमो भगवते तस्मै प्राणादिप्रभविष्णवे। अमन्दानन्द सान्द्राय वासुदेवाय वेधसे॥

namo bhagavate tasmai prāṇādiprabhaviṣṇave। amandānanda sāndrāya vāsudevāya vedhase॥

[नमः (namaḥ) - salutation; भगवते (bhagavate) - to the Lord; तस्मै (tasmai) - to him; प्राणादि (prāṇādi) - beginning with prāṇa; प्रभविष्णवे (prabhaviṣṇave) - to the creator; अमन्द (amanda) - unending; आनन्द (ānanda) - bliss; सान्द्राय (sāndrāya) - to the intense; वासुदेवाय (vāsudevāya) - to Vāsudeva; वेधसे (vedhase) - to the knower;]

I offer my salutations to the Lord, to him who is the creator beginning with prāṇa, to the intense unending bliss, to Vāsudeva, the knower.
