यदिदं किञ्च जगत् सर्वं प्राण एजति निःसृतम्। महद् भयं वज्रमुद्यतं य एतद्विदुरमृतास्ते भवन्ति ॥२॥
yadidaṁ kiñca jagat sarvaṁ prāṇa ejati niḥsṛtam। mahad bhayaṁ vajramudyataṁ ya etadviduramṛtāste bhavanti ॥2॥
[यत् (yat) - that; इदं (idaṁ) - this; किञ्च (kiñca) - whatever; जगत् (jagat) - world; सर्वं (sarvaṁ) - all; प्राण (prāṇa) - life; एजति (ejati) - moves; निःसृतम् (niḥsṛtam) - emanated; महत् (mahat) - great; भयम् (bhayam) - fear; वज्रम् (vajram) - thunderbolt; उद्यतम् (udyatam) - raised; यः (yaḥ) - who; एतत् (etat) - this; विदुः (viduḥ) - know; अमृताः (amṛtāḥ) - immortal; ते (te) - they; भवन्ति (bhavanti) - become;]
Everything in this world moves by the force of life (Prāṇa). Emanating from it is a great fear, like a raised thunderbolt. Those who understand this become immortal.
Bhāṣya 2.3.02
The great fear comes from not following their 'svadharma', i.e. their own duty.
प्राणाख्ये तु हरौ सर्वं एजत्यस्मात्तु निःस्सृतम्। वज्रवद् भयदं चैव स्वधर्मस्यातिलङ्घने ॥२॥
prāṇākhye tu harau sarvaṁ ejatyasmāttu niḥsṛtam। vajravad bhayadaṁ caiva svadharmasyātilaṅghane ॥2॥
[प्राणाख्ये (prāṇākhye) - in the one called Prana; तु (tu) - but; हरौ (harau) - in Hari; सर्वं (sarvaṁ) - all; एजति (ejati) - moves; अस्मात् (asmāt) - from this; तु (tu) - but; निःस्सृतम् (niḥsṛtam) - emerged; वज्रवत् (vajravat) - like a thunderbolt; भयदम् (bhayadam) - fear-giving; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; स्वधर्मस्य (svadharmasya) - of one's own duty; अतिलङ्घने (atilaṅghane) - in transgressing; ॥२॥ (॥2॥) - (verse number);]
That Lord Hari, called the life force (Prāṇa) moves in all. Indeed, he emerges like a thunderbolt and instills fear when one transgresses their 'svadharma', i.e. their own duty.
