Bhagavad Gīta Bhāshya and Tātparya
B.G 11.09
सञ्जय उवाच
sañjaya uvāca
[सञ्जयः (sañjayaḥ) - Sañjaya; उवाच (uvāca) - said]
Sañjaya said:
एवमुक्त्वा ततो राजन् महायोगेश्वरो हरिः। दर्शयामास पार्थाय परमं रूपमैश्वरम् ॥९॥
evam uktvā tataḥ rājan mahā-yogeśvaraḥ hariḥ. darśayām āsa pārthāya paramam rūpam aiśvaram ॥9॥
[एवम् (evam) - thus; उक्त्वा (uktvā) - having spoken; ततः (tataḥ) - then; राजन् (rājan) - O king; महायोगेश्वरः (mahā-yogeśvaraḥ) - the great lord of yoga; हरिः (hariḥ) - Hari (Kṛṣṇa); दर्शयामास (darśayām āsa) - caused to be seen; पार्थाय (pārthāya) - to Pārtha (Arjuna); परमम् (paramam) - supreme; रूपम् (rūpam) - form; ऐश्वरम् (aiśvaram) - of divine majesty]
Having thus spoken, then, O King, the great lord of yoga, Hari, revealed to Pārtha His supreme form of divine majesty.
Gīta Bhāshya 11.09
Lord is called 'Hari' because He takes a share in all the sacrifices.
हरिः सर्वयज्ञभागहरत्वात्-
hariḥ sarva-yajña-bhāga-haratvāt
[हरिः (hariḥ) - Hari; सर्वयज्ञभाग (sarva-yajña-bhāga) - the share of all sacrifices; हरत्वात् (haratvāt) - because of taking (it)]
He is called 'Hari', because He takes a share in all the sacrifices.
इडोपहूतं गेहेषु हरे भागं क्रतुष्वहम्। वर्णो मे हरितः श्रेष्ठः तस्माद्धरिरिति स्मृतः॥
iḍā-upahūtam geheṣu hare bhāgam kratuṣu aham. varṇaḥ me haritaḥ śreṣṭhaḥ tasmāt hariḥ iti smṛtaḥ ॥9॥
[इडया (iḍā) - by Iḍā (sacrificial invocation); उपहूतं (upahūtam) - invoked; गेहेषु (geheṣu) - in the sacrificial houses; हरे (hare) - of Hari; भागं (bhāgam) - the portion; क्रतुषु (kratuṣu) - in the sacrifices; अहम् (aham) - I am; वर्णः (varṇaḥ) - color; मे (me) - My; हरितः (haritaḥ) - green; श्रेष्ठः (śreṣṭhaḥ) - excellent; तस्मात् (tasmāt) - therefore; हरिः (hariḥ) - Hari; इति (iti) - thus; स्मृतः (smṛtaḥ) - is remembered]
In the sacrificial houses, during the sacrifice, Hari’s portion is invoked by 'Iḍā' sacrificial invocation. My colour is green and excellent — therefore, I am remembered as Hari.
- इति हि मोक्षधर्मे ॥९॥
iti hi mokṣa-dharme ॥9॥
[इति (iti) - thus; हि (hi) - indeed; मोक्षधर्मे (mokṣa-dharme) - in the Mokṣa-dharma section]

बहुचित्रजगद्बहुधाकरणात् परशक्तिरनन्तगुणः परमः ।
सुखरूपममुष्य पदं परमं स्मरतस्तु भविष्यति तत्सततम् ॥
"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
