B.G 3.05
न हि कश्चित् क्षणमपि जातु तिष्ठत्यकर्मकृत्। कार्यते ह्यवशः कर्म सर्वः प्रकृतिजैर्गुणैः ॥५॥
na hi kaścit kṣaṇamapi jātu tiṣṭhatyakarmakr̥t। kāryatē hyavaśaḥ karma sarvaḥ prakr̥tijairguṇaiḥ ॥5॥
[न हि कश्चित् क्षणम् अपि जातु तिष्ठति अकर्मकृत्। कार्यते हि अवशः कर्म सर्वः प्रकृतिजैः गुणैः॥
na = not; hi = certainly; kaścit = anyone; kṣaṇam = moment; api = even; jātu = at any time; tiṣṭhati = stays; akarmakr̥t = without doing action; kāryatē = is forced to act; hi = certainly; avaśaḥ = under the control of lord Brahman ('a' means Brahman, refer to tatparya); karma = actions; sarvaḥ = all; prakr̥tijaiḥ = are born from Prakrti; guṇaiḥ = by qualities;]
No one can possibly remain actionless, even for a moment. Every one is driven to action by the qualities, born from Prakrti, which is under the control of the lord.
Gīta Bhāshya 3.05
It is not possible to renounce all actions.
न तु कर्माणि सर्वात्मना त्यक्तुं शक्यानि इत्याह - नहीति ॥५॥
na tu karmāṇi sarvātmanā tyaktuṁ śakyāni ityāha - nahīti ॥5॥
[na tu = it is not; karmāṇi = actions; sarvātmanā = all, by the one; tyaktuṁ = to renounce; śakyāni = possible; ityāha = is stated; - nahīti = in 'na hī' verse;]
It is not possible to renounce all action by a person is stated in 'na hī' verse.
Gīta Tātparya 3.05
Agency is of two types: distorted and independent. Prakrti is distorted while lord Vishnu is independent. 'avasha' - under the control of Vishnu.
"कर्तृत्वं द्विविधं प्रोक्तं विकारश्च स्वतन्त्रता। विकारः प्रकृतेरेव विष्णोरेव स्वतन्त्रता॥"
इति पैङ्गिश्रुतेः।
"kartr̥tvaṁ dvividhaṁ prōktaṁ vikāraśca svatantratā। vikāraḥ prakr̥tērēva viṣṇōrēva svatantratā॥"
iti paiṅgiśrutēḥ।
["kartr̥tvaṁ = Agency to act; dvividhaṁ = is of two types; prōktaṁ = it is said; vikāraśca = dependent, and; svatantratā = independent; vikāraḥ = the distorted; prakr̥tērēva = is that of Prakrti; viṣṇōrēva = because of lordVishnu only; svatantratā = freedom is;]
[iti paiṅgiśrutēḥ = thus is the teaching from the Pāṅgi testimonial;]
"Agency to act is said to be of two types: distorted and independent. Distortion is that of Prakrti, while independence is is that of lord Vishnu."
- thus is the teaching from the Pāṅgi testimonial.
"कार्यते हि अवश" इत्यत्र अवशः विष्णुवशः। "अः इति ब्रह्म" इत्यादिश्रुतेः ॥५॥
"kāryatē hi avaśa" ityatra avaśaḥ viṣṇuvaśaḥ। "aḥ iti brahma" ityādiśrutēḥ ॥5॥
["kāryatē hi avaśa" = 'kāryate hi avasha'; ityatra = in the statement; avaśaḥ = 'avasha' means; viṣṇuvaśaḥ = under the control of the lord Vishnu;]
In the statement 'kāryate hi avasha', 'avasha' means under the control of Vishnu.
"अः इति ब्रह्म" इत्यादिश्रुतेः ॥५॥

"aḥ iti brahma" ityādiśrutēḥ ॥5॥

[aḥ = 'A'syllable; iti = means; brahma = lord Brahman;]
