B.G 18.07
नियतस्य तु संन्यासः कर्मणो नोपपद्यते। मोहात्तस्य परित्यागस्तामसः परिकीर्तितः ॥७॥
niyatasya tu saṃnyāsaḥ karmaṇo nopapadyate। mohāttasya parityāgastām asaḥ parikīrtitaḥ ॥7॥
[नियतस्य (niyatasya) - of the prescribed; तु (tu) - but; संन्यासः (saṃnyāsaḥ) - renunciation; कर्मणः (karmaṇaḥ) - of action; न (na) - not; उपपद्यते (upapadyate) - is proper; मोहात् (mohāt) - from delusion; तस्य (tasya) - his; परित्यागः (parityāgaḥ) - abandonment; तामसः (tām asaḥ) - in the mode of ignorance; परिकीर्तितः (parikīrtitaḥ) - is declared;]
Renouncing (saṃnyāsaḥ) prescribed duties is not appropriate. Abandoning them out of delusion is said to be in the mode of ignorance.

Understanding 'relinquishment of attachment and fruits' as 'relinquishment of ones own true nature' is due to false knowledge, called 'moha' i.e. delusion.
सङ्गफलत्यागमृते स्वरूपत्यागः कार्य इति मिथ्याज्ञानाख्यमोहात्।
saṅgaphalatyāgamṛte svarūpatyāgaḥ kārya iti mithyājñānākhyamohāt।
[सङ्ग (saṅga) - attachment; फल (phala) - fruit; त्याग (tyāga) - relinquish; मृते (mṛte) - without; स्वरूप (svarūpa) - true nature; त्यागः (tyāgaḥ) - relinquishment; कार्य (kārya) - action; इति (iti) - thus; मिथ्या (mithyā) - false; ज्ञान (jñāna) - knowledge; आख्य (ākhya) - called; मोहात् (mohāt) - delusion;]

"स्वयज्ञादीन् परित्यज्य निरयं यात्यसंशयम्।"
"svayajñādīn parityajya nirayaṃ yātyasaṃśayam।"

"By abandoning one's own sacrifices and duties, one undoubtedly descends into hell."
