Bhagavad Gīta Bhāshya and Tātparya
B.G 2.41
व्यवसायात्मिका बुद्धिरेकेह कुरुनन्दन। बहुशाखा ह्यनन्ताश्च बुद्धयोऽव्यवसायिनाम् ॥२-४१॥
vyavasāyātmikā buddhir ekeha kurunandana। bahuśākhā hy anantāś ca buddhayo'vyavasāyinām ॥2-41॥
[व्यवसायात्मिका (vyavasāyātmikā) - single-pointed; बुद्धिः (buddhiḥ) - intelligence; एक (eka) - one; इह (iha) - here; कुरुनन्दन (kurunandana) - O descendant of Kuru; बहुशाखाः (bahuśākhāḥ) - many-branched; हि (hi) - indeed; अनन्ताः (anantāḥ) - endless; च (ca) - and; बुद्धयः (buddhayaḥ) - intellects; अव्यवसायिनाम् (avyavasāyinām) - of the irresolute;]
(O descendant of Kuru, those who are resolute have a single-pointed intelligence, while the irresolute have intellects that are scattered and endless.)
O Joy of Kurus, the understanding of those who strive methodically towards the essence, the ātman, the ultimate reality, is single certain knowledge. Those who are opposed to methodical striving have opinions that digress in multiple directions and are endless.
Gīta Bhāshya 2.41
Opinion determined by proper reasoning is single certain knowledge.
'योग इमां बुदि्धं शृृणु' - इत्युक्तम्। बह्व्यः हि बुद्धयः मतभेदात्। तत् कथम् एकत्र निष्ठां करोमि इत्यत आह – 'व्यवसायात्मिकेति'। सम्यग् युक्तिनिर्णीतानां मतानाम् एक्यमेव इत्यर्थः ॥ ४१ ॥
'yoga imāṁ buddhiṁ śṛṇu' - ityuktam। bahvyaḥ hi buddhayaḥ matabhedāt। tat katham ekatra niṣṭhāṁ karomi ityata āha – 'vyavasāyātmiketi'। samyag yuktinirṇītānāṁ matānām ekyameva ityarthaḥ ॥ 41 ॥
[योग (yoga) - yoga; इमां (imāṁ) - this; बुदि्धं (buddhiṁ) - intelligence; शृृणु (śṛṇu) - hear; इत्युक्तम् (ityuktam) - thus said; बह्व्यः (bahvyaḥ) - many; हि (hi) - indeed; बुद्धयः (buddhayaḥ) - intelligences; मतभेदात् (matabhedāt) - due to differences of opinion; तत् (tat) - that; कथम् (katham) - how; एकत्र (ekatra) - in one place; निष्ठां (niṣṭhāṁ) - steadfastness; करोमि (karomi) - do I make; इत्यत (ityata) - thus; आह (āha) - he said; व्यवसायात्मिकेति (vyavasāyātmiketi) - resolute determination; सम्यग् (samyag) - properly; युक्तिनिर्णीतानां (yuktinirṇītānāṁ) - of those determined by reasoning; मतानाम् (matānām) - of opinions; एक्यमेव (ekyameva) - only unity; इत्यर्थः (ityarthaḥ) - this is the meaning;]
("Hear this intelligence of yoga," it was said. Indeed, there are many forms of intelligence due to differing opinions. How can I establish steadfastness in one place? To this, it was said - "resolute determination." The meaning is that there is only unity in the opinions that are properly determined by reasoning.)
Krishna says - "Listen now to the understanding regarding Yōga". But if Arjuna doubts - "There are multiple understandings (regarding Yōga) because of differences of opinion, and how can I be faithful to all opinions simultaneously?". Then Krishna says - 'vyavasāyātmika'. The opinion determined by proper reasoning is single certain knowledge - is the meaning conveyed by the verse.
Gīta Tātparya 2.41
Ony those who are devoted to lord Vishnu will arrive at single certain knowledge.
"बुदि्धर्निर्णीततत्त्वानामेका विष्णुपरायणा। बहुशाखा ह्यनन्ताश्च बुद्धयोव्यवसायिनाम्॥"
"buddhirnirṇītatattvānāmekā viṣṇuparāyaṇā। bahuśākhā hyanantāśca buddhayovyavasāyinām॥"
[बुदि्धः (buddhiḥ) - intelligence; निर्णीत (nirṇīta) - determined; तत्त्वानाम् (tattvānām) - of those who know the truth; एका (ekā) - one; विष्णु (viṣṇu) - Vishnu; परायणा (parāyaṇā) - dedicated to; बहुशाखाः (bahuśākhāḥ) - many-branched; हि (hi) - indeed; अनन्ताः (anantāḥ) - endless; च (ca) - and; बुद्धयः (buddhayaḥ) - intelligences; व्यवसायिनाम् (vyavasāyinām) - of the resolute;]
(The intelligence of those who have determined the truth is singularly focused and dedicated to Vishnu, while the thoughts of the irresolute are many-branched and endless.)
"The understanding arrived at by reasoning various principles in one for those devoted to lord Vishnu. Those seeking material gain have diverse and many opinions."
इति ब्रह्मवैवर्ते ॥४१॥

"The one who has created this variegated vast universe with varied forms has infinite power and is of infinite auspicious qualities. He certainly bestows the highest state of bliss to those who meditate on his ever happy essence." -Dwādasha stōtra 4.3
